As fans have been suspecting for quite awhile, the Mike & Molly TV show is being cancelled. There won’t be a seventh season but the sixth season of 13 episodes has been scheduled to start airing on January 6th on CBS.
Co-star Rondi Reed shared the details of the cancellation in a Facebook post:
Before you hear it elsewhere (and some already have) this is the Final and 6th Season of MIKE & MOLLY on CBS. It is also a shortened season (13 episodes) after the announced full renewal of 22 episodes back in March by the network.
We are done taping as of January 27th 2016 and I am not sure exactly when/if the episodes will all be aired. The network has it’s reasons, and I will not get into a debate, discussion, or campaign to get them to change their minds.
Other venues were explored by WB and Bonanza Productions (Chuck Lorre) after CBS announced their intentions, but did not turn up a future for our show. It is a fact and we have known for a few weeks.
I remain extremely grateful to have been a part of this and to have worked with a fabulous bunch of folks over the years. I have learned a lot about many things, including the Business we call Show.
Also grateful for all the fans and for the personal support I have received over the (almost) 6 seasons. Stewart Talent has guided me every step of the way on this journey and for that I am also forever grateful.
What do you think? Do you think that Mike & Molly should be cancelled? Would you have watched a seventh season on another channel?
Mike and Molly is exactly what this country needs right now, CBS is making an epic mistake canceling this group of talented people. My hope is that whoever sits and makes these decisions will look at these comments and come to their senses!
Omgosh no no no don’t take it away……….
This show is as close to home as it comes, reality t.v shows do not compare.Big mistake taking this show off air.It makes me sad they rather show rich people spending their money and their day ,that’s not t.v. Sad 🙁
What upsets me the most is they will take a show like Mike and Molly off which is awesome and leave a show on, like the Kardashians, makes no since what so ever or shows like survivor, what the hell #$%&@ !!!!
Mike and Molly is one of the funniest shows of all time. In light of the tremendous viewership, reasons to cancel must be overcome.
Not happy it’s a great show. Great actors it’s nice to sit down and relax and have a good laugh.
Totally agree… It’s my relaxation laugh after a long hard day at work.. Well said!
I love Melissa and the show! Please bring the show back. I’m so sad. What can be better than Mike and Molly?
This is ridiculous. Melissa McCarthy is a top Hollywood actress and the rest of the cast is hilarious. CBS: Big mistake☹️!
HUGE MISTAKE!!! BEST SHOW THESE DAYS, PERIOD!!! ❤️❤️
Why cancel ? We love the show and are heartbroken we can not see them each week.
Why cancel? We love the show ! This is heartbreaking!
I love, love , love this show. Even watching the reruns are funny every time. Best show all around. I want the powers to be get their head out if their ass and keep this show on! It is far better than Two and 1/2 Men ever was and it was kept on way longer than it should have. Where do I sign up for the Nielson ratings? I watch TV and my opinion does matter!
I agree it’s my favorite show
Boooooooooooo!!! And only 13 left???? Not happy.
Why do all they always cancel good comedy shows. Mike & Molly hit so close to home. I can’t understand how some garbage show stay on.What a shame! CBS I can’t figure you out yet!
I agree, I’m bummed
I agree completely… I am so disappointed in CBS!!! Mike and Molly was a show that everyone in the family could watch together. And it’s about family and being there for each other with fantastic comedy because of the CAST and the writers. So I just don’t understand why they would take that away from us… Shame on CBS!!!
This is why abbreviated season orders are never a good sign. They want to axe “Mike & Molly” and leave us with the 20-plus-year-old animated “floating timeline” junk. It’s a perfect example of Radio Killed the Video Star. By “Radio”, I mean voice-only acting. Too bad Melissa McCarthy hasn’t done any animated films so far.
Another comedy bites the dust, and so very sad.. This was a really funny show, and I don’t watch many of CBS shows, but this was a good one, to bad CBS..
