NCIS: Hawaii now has its lead — Vanessa Lachey will lead the CBS series. Yasmine Al-Bustami and Jason Antoon have also been cast in the new show which will debut during the 2021-22 broadcast season.
Deadline revealed more about Lachey’s role on the CBS series:
“Lachey’s Jane Tennant is as diplomatic as she is hard-charging. A woman in a male-dominated profession, she’s thrived in a system that’s pushed back every step of the way through equal parts confidence and strategy. But Tennant is more than just a job and a title. She’s a mother raising her kids mostly on her own. Like any parent who loves their career and their family – she’s a master juggler – balancing the duty to both her children and her country.”
Al-Bustami and Antoon will both play members of her team. This is the first time a woman has been the head of the NCIS: Hawaii office.
A premiere date has not yet been set for the series.

I am not going to pre-judge anything here, I’ve given every show equal opportunity to prove itself. I will truly miss NCIS NO, it was my favourite of the franchise! Just wish I knew why it has been cancelled. Que Sera sera!
I do not think Lachey is a good lead. I wish they would choose someone else for the lead. I think Vanessa Furtillo would be a better choice. Although I wish they would change their minds about cancelling NCIS, new Orleans ., since it is my favorite show. Probably will not watch NCIS Hawaii with the cast that has been chosen.
Same here. I only watched NCIS: New Orleans. I found the other NCIS shows uninteresting and the casting had been terrible. With this cast I’m not watching.
Sorry I like Vanessa, but I can not see her as the lead she does not fit that role. I still wish they would change their mind and keep NCIS New Orleans. That series has become my favorite of the 3 of them. I will watch as long as it does not interfere with other shows I watch.
I already heard about them casting a woman in the lead and I didn’t have a problem with that, and I didn’t really have a particular actress in mind but I honestly don’t know if I would have gone with her. Who knows, this could be her breakout role, but I think they should have kept looking. But anyways…

I’m so disappointed NCIS New Orleans has been cancelled. I’m on the fence about watching NCIS Hawaii. Not sure about the castings as well. Just out of curiosity, I will watch the first episode. Anything after that, remains to be seen.
Vanessa is a poor choice. Lost me already.
Didn’t like putting female agent head of ncis stupid idea ridiculous. Like original series NCIS Mark Harmon is the best one of my favorite shows. Look forward every week new episode. Big bummer New Orleans néed change storylines getting annoying plot too.
Yes, I’m excited to watch this new series. I really miss Hawaii 5-0 and I’m hoping this will takes its place.
Can’t wait to watch it. Cast thus far is great but was hoping Alex O’Loughlin (Hawaii Five 0) could’ve been part of the cast. He lives in Hawaii and his character before was ex-military. He’s a great actor and miss that show.
I hope Alex will be part of the series, too. Even if just for an occasional episode it would be great.

I think it was a mistake to cancel NCIS New Orleans! That team was finally perfect! If you needed to cancel one I would have preferred it to be NCIS LA, especially if HETTY was not returning! This new Hawaii seems like Fluff…

It was definitely a mistake cancelling NCIS: New Orleans for me. I barely watch CBS to begin with and with another cookie cutter procedural I’m tuning out. I still don’t understand how they can renew Bull, one of the lowest rated shows on the network and cancel New Orleans a slightly better rated show with a big fan base.
Yes I completely agree with you! I think it was another big CBS mistake! I may have understood if CBS had ZIVA running the New Hawaii spinoff but if I was them I would have cancelled NCIS LA instead of NOLA
