What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, the Ordinary Joe TV show stars James Wolk, Natalie Martinez, Elizabeth Lail, Charlie Barnett, David Warshofsky, and Teddy Sears with Adam Rodriguez, Jack Coleman, Christine Adams, Joe Carroll, Rushi Kota, Jason Burkey, and Gabrielle Byndloss in recurring roles. The show follows young Joe Kimbreau (Wolk) as he makes a pivotal and life-changing decision at his Syracuse University graduation. The three parallel stories that diverge from that night find Joe and the people around him with different careers, relationships, and family lives. The three tales each follow Joe some 10 years after his graduation: following in his father’s footsteps, as a police officer; following his passion, as a music star; and after he marries his love, as a nurse.
Season One Ratings
The first season of Ordinary Joe averaged a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.28 million viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled. Will NBC cancel or renew Ordinary Joe for season two? The peacock network hasn’t had much luck launching new drama series lately and it would be nice if this one could fill the gap left by This Is Us once it finishes its sixth and final season in 2022. Unfortunately, the ratings are not good so I think the series will likely be cancelled. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Renew Ordinary Joe. Ordinary Joe is intelligent, well-written, complex, and thoroughly enjoyable. The 3 story lines of Joe make sense. The color backgrounds help distinguish the 3 different life paths. The subject of persons with disabilites is treated with compassion. I love this show.
Save Ordinary Joe. Finally a different story that we can all relate to, our life choices!
Please renew Ordinary Joe. It’s in a rough time slot against already established Good Doctor. Also rivaling Monday Night Football. I have to record it every week to watch it. Great concept and wonderful writing. Keep it going!
I hope it is renewed, really enjoyed the show and looked forward to it. With This is Us finishing up its run, this is a great replacement. I enjoyed the storyline and it liked the idea of how 1 choice could change your whole life. Its so true to real life. Please give this show a chance.

Love Ordinary Joe!!! Why do they have to cancel all the good shows? Keep this one going, at least for another season, so we can find out how his lives evolve!!! It’s bad enough This is Us is ending!!
I couldn’t get past the 2nd episode of ordinary Joe unfortunately. None of the characters are original or compelling enough. I couldn’t find myself caring about the alternate timelines either. Cancel it already.
My boyfriend and I love the show and watch it every week it’s so much better then seeing Kim Kardashian and her sisters complain on t.v. Let’s bring this humble television show back for a second season please!!
Ordinary Joe is a fabulous show ~ intriguing how the storyline between the 3 versions of Joe’s life are intricately woven together. The characters are mature, intelligent humans with all the emotions we all experience in real life. Love the soundtrack as well. So hope this show is picked up for season 2.
I think NBC should consider so many of us watched Netflix for a year and became acclimated to bing watching. I bank several episodes of all fo my shows so I can cuddle up and binge them. It takes will power to hold off as of course I want to know what happens next, but I hold steady. I would hate to think knowing so many of us do that and or watch shows from their devices a.k.a. streaming vs. love same showing would affect whether a great show is renewed. I absolutely love Ordinary Joe and hope there will be a second season and more. THe writers are great and all three story lines makes me wishes he chooses each. Hard to decide which Joe I like best.

PLEASE renew Ordinary Joe! There are so many disgusting & disappointing shows on TV these days and Ordinary Joe is a breath of fresh air! It has a unique concept and I thoroughly enjoy having a show that’s fun to rehash with friends as we are left to wonder what’s going to happen next! NBC – I’ll give up my Instant Save from The Voice and use it on Ordinary Joe!
