How goes the voyage on The U.S.S. Orville, in season one of The Orville TV show on FOX? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Orville is cancelled or renewed for a second season. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated that their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all season one episodes of The Orville for us here.
A FOX space adventure, The Orville stars Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, Norm Macdonald, Larry Joe Campbell, Victor Garber, Brian George, and Rachael MacFarlane. In 2417, Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane) is promoted to captain The U.S.S. Orville, with the assistance of First Officer Kelly Grayson (Palicki). Unfortunately, she’s his ex-wife, and her presence acts as a bridle on his enthusiasm. Whether facing off with the Krill, a dangerous alien race, or attempting rescues on behalf of the Planetary Union, the human and alien crew still must deal with their mundane issues and each other.
What do you think? Which season one episodes of The Orville TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should FOX cancel or renew The Orville for a second season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
A great show. It’s got a quirky humor with occasional laugh out loud moments, and agree it is one of the best shows on TV. I was pleasantly surprised by the topics and writing.
I love this show, one of the best shows on TV. Smart, funny, beautifully well done. I have seen all the episodes and look forward to season 2. The cinematography is fantastic! SciFi at its best..
This is one of the best shows on tv. Every cast member unique and stellar. Each episode thoughtful and relevant. Cinematography top notch. Seth McFarland has another winner!
Love this show and want to see more
love this show!!!! what is wrong with people that they can’t see a good program right in front of them! Its funny, bright and totally different. It has a serious side too! The cast works so well off each other. Terrific show. Will hate the network if cancelled!!!
love the show please keep it going ty
This show is absolutely fantastic the comedy is good but most of all I love the Star Trek feel to it I am a trekkie and there is more star trek in a single episode of this show than the entire show of Star Trek Discovery combined. I read another comment that there is too much PC in this show I actually did not see that. I am conservative and apart from maybe episode 3 and 4 as a conservative I didn’t see much else to be taken as PC and besides Discovery is way more PC and not in… Read more »
If Fox cancels this i’m done with the network. It’s a great show with heart, humor and is more Star Trek than Discovery. The whole cast is great!
Great show! Threw people at first as to what it was. Turns out it’s great SCI-FI and real life comment humor that real people might say in a real ship. Better than Star Trek currently. I am a lifelong Star Trek fan.
I watch because the format is humor, with just enough serious to keep me watching. C’mon folks, if you wanted reruns of the Star Trek shows there’s plenty to get for your cocoon. I prefer originality and jokes. There’s enough broomstick riders in the Star Wars kindergarten. Lighten up and take a breath, folks.
I think the orville is the right balance of comedy and Star Trek. Enjoyable for those of us who are not die hard Trekkies but who have seen enough to appreciate the show .
The forced silly humor is ruining this show !!! It could be great, maybe even TNG-grade, if the writers took it seriously but in its present form the show lacks a consistent tone. It can’t decide whether it wants to be a space drama (TNG, DS9,…) or a space comedy (Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy, Red Dwarf,…). Both genres are great but you have to choose otherwise it just doesn’t work. Can you imagine The Borg making dick jokes while attacking Sector 001 or Captain Sisco accidentally drinking a whole bottle of laxative before visiting the Kai of Bajor ?… Read more »
Red Dwarf is a favourite of mine. I think Orville is balanced fine. The original Star Trek threw in a fair bit of humour. They don’t have to chose. It is perfect the way it is.
A little too PC for me and my wife. One of the only reasons we started watching it was because of Penny Johnson, she was really good in Castle. We have now stopped watching it.
I enjoyed the Orville when it was on Sunday night. Unfortunately, they moved it to Thursdays at a later time so I cannot watch it. If it was on at an earlier time I would watch it.
You could always watch it on demand if you have cable. Or if you don’t, you could watch it on the Fox Now app.
As a last resort – though I’m not endorsing or condoning this – you could find a place online that “borrows” from other online sources.
I have a bad feeling that the Fox execs are thinking of axing because of the move. Fox has moved other shows that are now cult classics to other time slots for this very reason; Firefly, Sarah Conner Chronicles, Almost Human, just to name a few. Fox execs should look at the opinions of the viewers and not the critics, and they are the butt of jokes because of it. I just hope they figure it out before another great show is canceled.
I think I help, there’s this little box widely known as a DVR. I think you can find it at something called a Walmart. If the lore is correct they slew an entity known as Kmart by causing it’s weapon , Blue Light Special, to overload and explode in the killing field now known as the Battle of the Sweatshops. I hope this will help as I truly believe the Orville is an excellent show and will surpass Star trek TNG, as it’s failing was that in the 23rd century they still hadn’t found a cure for baldness.
Nicole Rogers I’ve been watching the series as I when, when I can, on HULU. I like that they post episodes very soon after they air, and keep them available for along time. HULU’s new format has taken a little getting used to. I didn’t think a change was necessary. But I’m able to get around it fine now. Oroville was a pleasant surprise, even better than I hoped. Such a welcome satirical view inspired by Star Trek, which I’m loved my entire life, and current events, and have provided a very welcome break from the stress of all of… Read more »
My husband and I really enjoy this show.It is well written with good comedy written in. The comedy is broken up with some serious ‘happenings’..and we thoroughly enjoy it. We were watching Star Trek-Discovery…but, then, the actors got ‘political’ (all photographed ‘taking the knee’) which is ridiculous. Actors etc. should stick to acting….get involved in political actions, and you’ve lost me. Trust me….we don’t need you…
I have watch T he Orville from the start , The Orvllive is agog show.
