Annie Bello won’t get to fight for new causes in the 2021-22 television season. ABC has cancelled the Rebel TV series so there won’t be a second year.
A drama, the Rebel TV show is inspired by the life of activist Erin Brockovich today and stars Katey Sagal, John Corbett, James Lesure, Lex Scott Davis, Tamala Jones, Ariela Barer, Kevin Zegers, Sam Palladio, and Andy Garcia. Annie “Rebel” Bello (Sagal) is a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. She’s a funny, messy, brilliant, and fearless woman who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Rebel averages a 0.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.23 million viewers in the live+same day ratings.
The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The series follows Grey’s Anatomy on the schedule but performs poorly in the ratings and loses a lot of its lead-in audience. It’s one of the lowest-rated freshman series on the network this season.

I can’t believe ABC cancelled Rebel. What moron is head of programming? This is the first great show in along time. What… another damn stupid reality show replacing it. This show is fantastic and stands up for what is going on in our crazy world today. It is very well written and the stars are excellent. Please for God’s sake do not CANCEL this show! If ANC doesn’t renew then that’s it for me. I won’t watch ABC any more.
I have watched Rebel every week and look forward to it being on. It should not be cancelled, much better show than a lot of others that continue
U have got to be kidding. My household is hooked on this show. Boring shows like Greys Anatomy still on air…really..we are done with ABC network. You don’t know a good thing when you have it!
Please another network pick up..best new show if the season.

I can’t believe they finally air a great show and it’s ending after only one season? I don’t understand? It’s so engaging and well written, with quality actors, what’s the problem? I don’t think they calculated the ratings properly, anyone watching this show was entertained!
First network show I have actually loved in years! Katey, Andy, John et al are superb and I love the story lines. I am so disappointed and hope renewed because it just is so good.
I love the show I watch it every week I hate to see it go good come back for Katey Sagel. I think that if they would have changed the time it came on to 8 or 9 or moved it to Friday nights instead of canceling. Oh well good first season thou…
Figures. Finally a good show, and these morons cancel it. For what? Another boring “reality” show? Big mistake, ABC! Hopefully Netflix or Amazon or someone will pick it up.
We love Rebel. It’s too soon to cancel. Give it another chance. When people find out about it, they will love it too. Great acting.
Do not cancel Rebel. This is an amazing show. Katy Segal is the best in this role. Please reconsider canceling. Place at another day or time to give her a chance.
