Annie Bello won’t get to fight for new causes in the 2021-22 television season. ABC has cancelled the Rebel TV series so there won’t be a second year.
A drama, the Rebel TV show is inspired by the life of activist Erin Brockovich today and stars Katey Sagal, John Corbett, James Lesure, Lex Scott Davis, Tamala Jones, Ariela Barer, Kevin Zegers, Sam Palladio, and Andy Garcia. Annie “Rebel” Bello (Sagal) is a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. She’s a funny, messy, brilliant, and fearless woman who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Rebel averages a 0.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.23 million viewers in the live+same day ratings.
The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The series follows Grey’s Anatomy on the schedule but performs poorly in the ratings and loses a lot of its lead-in audience. It’s one of the lowest-rated freshman series on the network this season.

I am sorry to see that Rebel was cancelled. I think Networks don’t give shows a chance anymore. If the show performs poorly in the first 3 shows they cancel them. There are more people than just the 18-49 yr. olds that watch tv.
And the networks wonder why ratings are down. People are turning to Netflix and other streaming venues due to ABC, CBS and NBC cancelling some really good shows without giving them a fair chance.
Rebel is a wonderful new series. I watch it in Hulu every week. I really hate that it is being canceled!
Please don’t cancel this show. My friend and I just love the entire cast. Rebel is inspiring, during a time of uncertainty. It feels good to cheer for the silent and powerless.

This was such a great show. It had everything for every age and race. So sad. It was going to be my favorite show. I hope another network decides to pick it up.

Why is rebel being canceled? One of the best shows on tv right now! What is wrong? at least give them a full season to get ratings up. It never fails they cancel the good shows. I love it!❤️❤️
Finally a good show and great actors. Very disappointed with ABC. I hope another station or a streaming service picks it up. Another good show “This Is Us” has been canceled.
Please Please Please reconsider. We love this show. It offers so much and the characters are fun and interesting.
I can’t believe you would cancel this show Katie is awesome along with all the other actors. Get a different network to pick this show up! She tells it how it is.

I don’t think this show really got a fair shot at finding an audience. It’s only been on a couple weeks, for Hell’s sake!!
