What’s This TV Show About?
An ABC comedy-drama, The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin, Mercedes Mason, Melissa O’Neil, Afton Williamson, and Eric Winter. The story centers on John Nolan (Fillion), a small-town guy who, after a life-changing experience, decides to pursue his dream of being an LAPD officer. Now he’s the oldest rookie on the force, and the brass thinks he’s just having a midlife crisis. He’s got to keep up with his younger co-workers (not to mention young criminals) or he’ll risk lives. Maybe though, he can use the experience he’s gained with age, and the determination he has developed over the years, to make a real go of it. Either way, he’s got a secret weapon — his sense of humor.

Will ABC cancel or renew The Rookie for season two? The ratings haven’t been very good but I suspect the network will give this series every chance to succeed. My guess is that it will be cancelled but ABC could renew it and make some changes to try to improve the ratings. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. This is a great show. It is not the same, predictable cop drama. It’s different and blends humor with the serious! Definitely renew it!
I hope they renew it. It’s an awesome series and a great story line. Love all the characters! And come on, they can’t end it with all of not knowing what becomes of Bradford!
I absolutely love this series! My boyfriend and I would watch it EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT!! I so hope it is renewed for a 2nd season! We were both upset when the 1st one ended! And there is NO WAY that they can leave us with that! We HAVE to know what happens!!! We both hope he is okay!!!!

I love The Rookie! ABC really should renew. One of the few ABC shows I watch anymore. Have been a fan o Nathan Fillion since she was on One Life to Live. Give this show a chance.
Awesome show! Recently heard that Fillion’s return to ABC was well received so this should have a good shot at another season.
Come on ABC! Give this show a chance. We hardly ever watch this channel any longer because of the awful line up of shows that we don’t like. This is by far your best show!
