Jack is back! Today, Adult Swim announced that their popular animated series Samurai Jack will be back for a fifth season in 2016.
It’s been 11 years since the series was cancelled by Cartoon Network in 2004 after four seasons.
Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, Samurai Jack centers on a samurai who finds himself displaced from Feudal Japan to a futuristic Earth that is ruled by the shape-shifting demon Aku. During its initial run, the series garnered considerable critical praise, earning four Primetime Emmy Awards.
In February 2013, a Samurai Jack comic debuted that follows the storyline of the series after season four ended.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Samurai Jack? Are you excited there will be a new season?
that is great been waiting a long time. momotata.
Glad to have it back.
Samurai Jack was such a good show although it went down hill after Season 2 I’m glad it’s finally back but this totally different what’s with that pointy hat? Jack always wore a round hat and it would get lost or destroyed every episode plus who’s going to do the voices? and will Jack talk a lot he never was much of a talker he talked only when he had to there was a whole episode he didn’t talk for fifteen minutes. Is Genndy Tartakovsky involved or someone else?
Awesome. Great series. There was a large following at the time and we were shocked to hear it was cancelled.
