Last year, of the 26 scripted CBS TV series we tracked during the regular season, the SEAL Team TV show ranked eighth in the demo and 12th in terms of total audience size. If that was just beginner’s luck, the ratings will drop off in the second season. But if this show has the soul of a warrior, it could even increase its audience this time around. Will SEAL Team be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A CBS military drama, SEAL Team stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks, Jessica Paré, and Judd Lormand. The action-adventure series centers on an exclusive Navy SEAL unit as they train for, plan, and risk their very lives to carry out perilous missions for the sake and honor of the U.S.A. Fierce and focused Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads the Tier One team. Despite the hardship it causes them and their families, this SEAL team is ready, willing, and able to embark upon secret missions at the drop of a hat. Their love of country and deep resolve is unmatched.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/23 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of SEAL Team on CBS averaged a 1.01 rating in the 18-49 demo and a total audience of 6.660 million viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the SEAL Team TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for third season on CBS?
*5/9/19 update: CBS has renewed SEAL Team for a third season.
Our most favorite show! Please renew the stories are not over. However can Stella not keep coming back as if she has mutual friends with Clay and magically knows about his personal/work events….. She has been cut out, let’s keep it that way. The character would not be hanging on like he is portrayed.
Please renew. This show is in a tough time slot. Give it a chance, change the day and time! Really enjoy watching SEAL Team, one of my favorites!!!
My most favorite show. Do not cancel this awesome show. Give it a better time slot.
Seal Team is an excellent show but you have given it a terrible time slot against established shows
Renew & give this a different day & time !
Renew please! It is one of my favorites to dvr
Definitely renew – it’s the only show on network tv that I care to watch.
Please renew! The actors on the show give 110% each episode and it shows in the end product. I can’t imagine that this isn’t a no-brainer. This is a keeper!
Renew! I love this show! It is a keeper!,,
Please keep this show going! I love it and can’t believe they can end the second season leaving us all hanging like this
Please keep this show. Probably the best military show ever. I can see this show going on for a long time with a very loyal following. No reason to even think if cancelling this.
One of the best showsolution on TV. Just watched episode from April 25th, great show. As ALWAYS!
Oh dang yes renew it. I really like this show. The episode that aired 24 Apr 19 was less action-packed but packed a huge punch – for the values that keep our guys going, and the uphill climb they might face in the VA system. A special shout-out to the music producers for ending the episode with “Find The Cost Of Freedom”. Damn fine choice.
This show is a keeper!! So many cop shows go on forever but why is it a military shows burn out so quickly? They need to keep this show and give it a chance. Stop moving the time from 9 to 10 PM and don’t move it to another day.
I vote – RENEW! Really like this show. I too basically watch only CBS. Almost everything in fact.
