Star is coming soon from 20th Century Fox Television. Lee Daniels is behind another series, and it looks like it will head to Fox. Deadline reported that production on this series will start in December, and the series is looking to cast its three female stars now. The series is also casting for a transgender character named Cotton.
Deadline shared the plot for this new series.
“Star is set in Atlanta and centers on three girls — one White, one Black and one half White/Half Black — who are coming together to form a band and their rise to the top. It will chronicle the choices with which these artists are faced along the way, while showcasing the allure and heartache of the cut-throat music scene, and exploring cultural themes from a new perspective.”
Lee Daniels is the man behind Empire on Fox. Season one was a massive hit for the network. For season two, Empire is still one of the top scripted programs on Fox, but the ratings have dropped consistently week after week.
Could Lee Daniels have another hit on his hands with Star? Will check it out? Tell us what you think.
Not sure about this…but I’ll watch to see what it does…
I didn’t like that Kira got home but couldn’t be reunited with her family , I hope there’s like more this season or a tv movie to correct this , and she be reunited with her family.
I hope that this series works out for Mr. Daniels, but so far it sounds like Sparkle (1976 not 2012) meets Dream Girls 2015. Star better be good.
