In 1975, the SWAT TV show — starring Steve Forrest, Robert Urich, Rod Perry, Mark Shera, and James Coleman — spun off from ABC’s TV series, The Rookies. Prior to its cancellation, SWAT ran for 37 episodes, over the course of two seasons. Decades later, the concept came back into vogue, and it premiered in 2003 as a feature film with Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell. Now, CBS has rebooted the police drama, but will a new generation be receptive to it? Will SWAT be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A high-action program, SWAT stars Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, and Peter Onorati. The CBS TV series centers on Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (Moore). A lifetime Los Angeles local and former Marine, Hondo has been tapped to lead a new “last stop” Special Weapons and Tactics unit. Thanks to his background, he is uniquely qualified to lead the team in a manner that also builds a bridge to the community he holds so dear. Hondo’s group includes the seasoned David “Deacon” Kay (Harrington), newcomer Jim Street (Russell), canine trainer Christina “Chris” Alonso (Esco), and expert driver, Dominique Luca (Johnson). They work under the supervision of L.A. Metro Captain Jessica Cortez (Sigman), a dedicated professional who also has a personal connection to Hondo. Meanwhile, Mumford leads a rival unit. **Status update, below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the SWAT TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for second season on CBS?

GREAT SHOW!
My daughter and I love this show! Great action! I hope it gets renewed for season two!
Love this show
I love the show. Please renew for 2nd season.
I really wish this show would end. It is an insult to the 1975 series and 2003 film. I expected better from cbs and shemar.
Shemar seems to be Derrick Morgan all over again. Watched one episode and noped the heck out.
Love the show, especially 2nd episode. Keep watching.
Enjoying the action. Shemar never disappoints. I’ll keep watching. Great show

I must admit that the action is a jaw dropper. There are multiple storylines that are developing. Shemar Moore is doing an awesome job in his action packed role. With all of that being said I would love to see this show picked up for another season.
Disappointing. Shemar’s lack of personality and one note portrayal brought it down. It brings nothing new to the table.
So sorry you feel that way, I think that is one of the great things, Shemar has so much of himself in this program. It is great and his compassion and ire is properly placed.
All men hate handsome guys ofcourse he feels that way. I agree he’s always been a great actor. He has emotional eyes I think, but in honesty I feel anything he does is always on point no matter what he looks like
Lightweight show. Shemar deserved better. 60/40 for cancellation.
I saw too many holes in the first show. I was hoping this series might be good, but in my opinion it was just the opposite. I’ll swat this show off my to watch list.
I like to create more seasons of this show for crime-fighting shows. To be more specific, I give the green light for season 2.
