The Baker and the Beauty airs its first season finale tonight, but will there be a season two? Showrunner Dean Georgaris spoke with TVLine about the future of the ABC TV show.
The romantic dramedy stars Victor Rasuk as Daniel Garcia, a baker who begins a relationship with an international superstar. The cast also includes Nathalie Kelley, Carlos Gomez, Dan Bucatinsky, Lisa Vidal, David Del Rio, Belissa Escobedo, and Michelle Veintimilla.
The season finale of The Baker and the Beauty premieres on ABC tonight, June 1st, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Will this also be the series finale? Georgaris told TVLine he has a second season planned:
We have Season 2 all mapped out, and we know the network is excited about it, which is good. It just makes it all the more edge-of-your-seat, if you’re us, for the next month or whatever it is before they make their decision.”
So will there be a renewal? Georgaris says he’s optimistic:
They believe in the show, and they understand what we’re trying to do, and my hope is that there’ll still be room for us. I’m optimistic, but you do never know.”

I see where you have cancelled The Baker and the Beauty. Shame on you! Finally, there was a light hearted love story without violence and raw sex and you cancel it! Why? What has happened to decent TV Shows, are they a thing of the past? This was a good show, too bad it was not appreciated in the right places.

The Baker and The Beauty was the best show on TV all year!! Hands Down the best! My husband and I usually DVR shows so we can watch it later and skip commercials. But this is the ONLY show WE WATCHED LIVE!!! Yes, it’s that good!

Looking Forward to Season 2 of the Baker and the Beauty! My 10 year old daughter and I look forward every Monday to watch the show. We enjoy the story of a Latin family sharing their culture and the love of food. We love the actors, the family, the fame and romantic twist. Cant wait for season 2, Please renew!!!

This is my Favorite show and my husband loves it as well! What a glorious premise showing love has no bounds and will always, we hope prevail!! I so look forward to my Monday nights and don’t know what I will do now that the season finale is over.
