What happened to The Boondocks? Star John Witherspoon recently revealed the Adult Swim TV show will return for a fifth season, ComicBook reports.

The animated series centers on the Freemans, a black family that moves to a predominantly white suburb called Woodcrest. The voice cast includes Witherspoon, Regina King, Cedric Yarbrough, and Gary Anthony Williams.

Even though a season of The Boondocks hasn’t aired since 2014, Witherspoon recent revealed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that a fifth season is happening:

I’m on the cartoon – what is it? The Boondocks? I didn’t change my voice for The Boondocks. And they coming back: Boondocks is coming back… It’s one of the best cartoons I’ve ever been on.”

Adult Swim has not confirmed the news.
