TV show description:
In the United States, there are 40,000 people whose remains have never been identified. When police investigations reach a dead end, it’s a group of civilian volunteers that work nationwide to put a name to these individuals. These volunteers gather in coffee shops and living rooms to go over leads, clues, and tips. This particular network is based out of the Chicago area.
Alex Donovan (Christian Slater) is the leader of this chapter of The Forgotten Network. He’s a former detective, but left the police force after the disappearance of his young daughter. To this day, she hasn’t been found. With his finely tuned investigative skills, Alex can help piece together a victim’s story, going over their footsteps and figuring out why they died by taking a look at how they lived.
Candace Butler (Michelle Borth) is an office worker who avoids the terrible boredom of her mundane job by volunteering in the Network and helping to identify victims. She’s a confident and headstrong young woman.
Lindsey Drake (Heather Stephens) is a science teacher by day, but donates her nights to the Forgotten Network as a way to pay back for a crime that her husband committed.
Walter Bailey (Bob Stephenson) is a phone company worker who sometimes uses his telecommunication connections to help out the investigation. He’s a true-crime enthusiast, yet sometimes his zealousness complicates the investigations.
Tyler Davis (Anthony Carrigan), an aspiring artist, is the newest member of The Forgotten Network. This street-smart guy dropped out of medical school to become an artist and joined the Network as a way to satisfy his community service after being arrested for tagging.
Working with the group is Grace Russell (Rochelle Aytes), a homicide detective for the Chicago Police. Grace is Alex’s former protege and she’s the one who hands over the cases to Alex and the Network. She also stays in touch with him throughout his investigation and offers help wherever she can.
I loved this show. Thank goodness they didn’t leave us with a cliffhanger ending; but a happy one! I’m still waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can enjoy seeing the episodes again.
Please bring back the Forgotten! My husband and I looked forward to watching it every week.
