Is all well that ends well? TNT has cancelled its Will TV show after just one season of ten episodes. The decision to cancel the young Shakespeare drama series comes on the heels of last night’s Will season one and unintentional TV series finale episode, “Once, Bright Angel.” The first season of Will premiered on TNT on July 10, 2017.
The Will TV series stars Laurie Davidson as William Shakespeare. The TNT cast also includes Olivia DeJonge, Jamie Campbell Bower, Mattias Inwood, Ewen Bremner, Colm Meaney, William Houston, Lukas Rolfe, Max Bennett, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.
Will: A Look at the Ratings

What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the Will TV show? Should TNT have cancelled or renewed it for a second season? Sound off, in the comments.
This is one of those moments that the Network will regret, like the cancellation of Firefly, which is still being discussed 15 years after being cancelled after just one season. How do I know? Will was unusual because 1) it was well written with wit, creativity and expressive command of the English language, apropos for a story about a playwright with these attributes, 2) it had a plethora of interesting characters, all well acted and 3) the staging and sets truly brought the past into the present in a vibrant way. Why didn’t it succeed? It was not given time… Read more »
I think Will should be given a second season. I had a great cast and very interesting storyline. With a second season Will would more then likely be a great show. It can go a long way if its just given the chance.
Why can’t it move to HBO where it probably belonged in the first place.
TNT did the show a great disservice by not promoting the show in general and its edginess in particular more. Had they played up Jaime Chapman Bowers’ amazing turn as CHRISTopher Marlowe and his quest, women in that demo would’ve flocked to the show. Network does a crappy pr job and then axes for low ratings. What is TNT owned by Disney? because that’s the typical ABC move. Shame on TNT. At least shop it to streaming
A big mistake to not give this fabulous show a chance to build their fan base!! You start a show during summer months when so many aren’t watching TV!! Shame on you, TNT!! This cast is amazing and the interaction between Will and Alice was magical. I truly hope you come to your senses and give them another chance. I was hooked!!
Was one of my favorite new shows. Darn them for cancelling it!
Will was a fairly good show… Networks keep doing this crap, run a series for a short season and then cancel. It’s why I rarely what new shows anymore, you watch, they leave you with a cliff hanger and then no next season. So now I just go back and find good shows that lasted seasons that I missed because I was watching other shows, maybe I didn’t have the channel or something. Why watch a show and gamble to see if it gets continued when I know I can find a show that did last season… Case in point,… Read more »
So annoyed by this. We were really enjoying this show.
Such an awesome show! Why do all the good ones get cancelled??Ugh…..
I agree I really liked it too, disappointed it was cancelled .
It was so beautiful and well done. What did they expect in the middle of the summer?? So sad. The cast was amazing. What’re the numbers for Vikings on History?
I loved it. TNT could have advertised it more. Found it through word of mouth. Exceptional acting and script. I guess it didn’t have enough sexual scenes to hold the majority of audience as in over done shows.
My husband and I enjoyed every episode. Sorry to see it go.
I don’t think it shouldn’t have been cancelled
Will should NOT have been cancelled !!!!! I am very sad…….
That’s a shame I enjoyed it.
