In the past couple of years, fans of The Young and the Restless didn’t have to worry that the series would be cancelled because, in June of 2017, the soap was renewed for three more seasons. This, season 47, is the last season on that renewal. Could this be the end of the show? Could CBS possibly cancel the highest-rated remaining soap opera? Will the CBS execs renew this soap again? Premiering on CBS on March 26th of 1973, The Young and the Restless follows the romances, hopes, and fears of the residents of Midwestern metropolis Genoa City. The large cast includes Peter Bergman, Eric Braeden, Sasha Calle, Sharon Case, Melissa Claire Egan, Daniel Goddard, Camryn Grimes, Amelia Heinle, Bryton James, Hunter King, Christian LeBlanc, Kate Linder, Michael Mealor, Joshua Morrow, Melody Thomas Scott, Jason Thompson, and Jordi Vilasuso.

For comparisons: The 2018-19 season of The Young and the Restless averaged a 0.62 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 4.07 million total viewers.

I have watched Y&R since middle school. Through working I’ve videotaped, DVR’d and watched live since 1982. Even though the shows were “slow” when returning from COVID, I was still being faithful. The week of Sept 10 when Lily and Billy had their “diversity” chat, I turned the show off about 5 minutes into it the speech and don’t plan to watch again. I don’t need Y&R telling me how privileged white individuals are …
I’m very disappointed in The Y & R lately. They’ve shoved the people who have been on the show for years into the background or off completely to focus on younger people. Please remember those who have helped make it number 1. For the first time I’m considering quitting watching it.
phyllis fought for the grand phoenix and started multiple confrontations yet phyllis is never at the grand phoenix i think that needs to change if she didnt want to be a silent partner and wanted to control the grand phoenix that bad she needs to be there
I don’t watch any more. I am repulsed by the odd changes in the coffee house scenes. (perfectly made up shirtless boys, instead of the beautiful, mysterious young woman?) Who is behind this?
I can no longer stand to watch. Very bad directing and casting. Stinks!
My favorite soap of all time, please consider leaving Los Angeles and resuming production ASAP. Perhaps move to Nevada or Arizona temporarily. No need to sell your homes or properties, just temporarily relocate and rent out a few floors in a hotel. The country needs Y&R and soaps more than ever now.
Hello please let me know when both shows will resume new episodes. With this pandemic there are very few things to look forward to and this is just cruel at this point to all the viewers. Other soaps are running without a hitch

when the time comes and cbs can start filming Young and Restless again either get rid of phyllis or think of a storyline, first she fought for the hotel and now she doesnt even run it she just sits and drinks and lobby and repeatedly goes back to Nick its ridiculous nobody would keep going back to their ex and if they own a hotel they have to work and wouldnt have time to go see their ex or anyone especially when they are an owner of a hotel and they wouldnt sit in lobby and drink get a storyline… Read more »
Young and Restless i watch it on my DVR you can minus commercials and i fast forward even more because the old lady Dina is back for a 5th or 6th time and it is ridiculous that storyline it needs to end i was a care taker for years and she would have been dead by now and you cannot take a person in a retirement home out when they need 24/7 medical care also her memory is going and forgetting everything she wouldnt remember any kids and wouldnt trust any of them
if Michelle Stafford (phyllis) is staying at least have a storyline she can have other than going back to Nick for a 4th time and starting drama between others like an immature person would do
like before get rid of Michelle Stafford (phyllis) there is no need for her anymore first she fights for the hotel and then she gets it and doesnt run it she goes back to her ex for the 3rd time these are idiotic story lines also she is a horrible actress just get rid of her
cbs needs to make a smart change and have auditions to find a replacement for Michelle Stafford (phyllis) because they need someone to play the part who can act and fit the part, im 37 and been watching soap operas for 20 years and when someone new comes on a soap i can tell right away how good of an actress/actor they are and if they would fit the part
i watched All my Children from 1991 until it ended which was a huge disappointment and then started Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful and out of all these soap operas and past 29 years Michelle Stafford (new phyllis) is the worse actress
