King & Maxwell: Cancelled by TNT, No Season Two

king and maxwell canceled by TNT Deadline reports that TNT has decided to cancel King & Maxwell after one season. The 10th and final episode aired on August 12th.

The show revolves around a pair of Secret Service agents (Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn) who opened their own detective agency after they were fired. Michael O’Keefe, Chris Butler, and Ryan Hurst round out the cast.

King & Maxwell remained fairly consistent during its 10 episode run and averaged 3.11 million viewers. The premiere attracted 3.52 million viewers and the finale drew 3.50 million.

While it wasn’t as big a hit as Rizzoli & Isles (5.7 million) and Major Crimes (4.9 million), it wasn’t that far behind Perception (3.5 million).

What do you think? Are you sorry that there won’t be a second season for King & Maxwell? How do you think it compares to the other TNT dramas?

I cannot believe you cancelled king and maxwell. The show had great chemistry and unusual plots. It was a great show. You should revaluate the people in charge of renewing or cancelling shows. Perhaps they should be cancelled and replaced by a new cast of characters.

Interesting phrasing …. cancelling the people in charge! Well, we can only hope that this TV website actually communicates with TNT so all our opinions and comments are not in vain, other than commiserating with one another.

I guess I’m done with TNT. That is 3 shows that they have canceled before giving them a chance. I loved this show and Monday Mornings. I will no longer be watching any new shows on TNT and as soon as theey cancel the ones I am watching I’ll be done with this network. It’s unbelievable that a second tier network a network that I’ve been telling all my friends and family about there great shows contnues to use such poor judgement. Give people time to discover these shows.

Finally another good show that everyone can watch and enjoy! I can’t believe that those weird family members are still on and YOU cancelled a NORMAL show and still have HBB is renewed. Are they related to someone at TNT?

What??? Another show with potential and they cancel it. But they keep renewing Perception, why?? I liked the concept, 2 former secret service agents as private investigators, one guy and one girl. Just friends. My friend and I really liked this show, it was funny, interesting, and our favorite character is Edgar. The opening sequence was always a hoot. Another sad announcement I must make to my friend.

This was my favorite show of the summer. Like the other’s, I especially liked the chemistry and Edgar was great. What does TNT want? Rizollie and Isles is the only remaining TNT show I watch.

Seriously? So many of the shows I like get cancelled. They should talk to me about ratings. I would cancel 70% of the junk shows on now and keep most of the ones they cancel.

I’m angry and disappointed that “King and Maxwell” has been cancelled..”Major Crimes” is the only show left on TNT that I watch…it was disappointing that they cancelled “Leverage” another of my favorites..now not to give “King and Maxwell” a chance..I loved the characters..and the actors that played them…Jon Tenney a favorite of mine from “Closer”..and the Edgar character was great as was the Benney character…they all complimented the leads very well….and the show had more stories to tell…TNT listen to the fans and renew “King and Maxwell” !!!

This was a painful show to watch and I gave up on it after a couple of shows. So this was not a surprise it was cancelled.

Sad to see it go, the chemistry between the 4 characters and then adding the 2 FBI’s into it was a great combination.

Will miss Edgar and Benney. I wanted to see what would have happened between them, you know that Edgar had a fabulous background they had barely scratched, the one for Benney as well.

I’m sad to see King & Maxwell didn’t make it to a second season. Like others here, I enjoyed the show. It was funny, there was great chemistry with the characters and the cases they worked were interesting. I really enjoyed Edgar’s character. He was a pleasure to watch and absolutely stole every scene he was in for me. Since King & Maxwell wasn’t that far behind Perception in the ratings, I can’t help but worry about the fate of Perception as well (it’s another favorite show of mine). While I’d love for TNT to reconsider their decision, I know they won’t. The list of shows that I really can enjoy on television is dwindling down quickly these days, unfortunately.

King & Maxwell was a good show and Edgar was great on it. It should come back somehow.
