It was a solid launch for the new comedy. It lost 23% of the demo audience from lead-in Big Bang Theory. However, ¡ROB! outperformed the season premiere of Rules of Engagement by 14% and December’s last original episode of Rules by 52%.
It was also a significant improvement for CBS (up 41% in the demo) when compared to last year’s ratings for now-cancelled $#*! My Dad Says. Unless the show seriously declines in the next couple weeks, it looks like the network may finally have found a compatible partner for Big Bang.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the ¡ROB! TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

SERIOUSLY people? I am a bilingual First generation Mexican American, born and raised in East Los Angeles. And I am sorry. But I cant lie, I just cant lie. I HATED the show. IT IS NOT FUNNY!. OMG!! I teally tried. but Dios mio!…I wanted to shoot myself! LOL!.. Unbelievable!..”The dumbing down of America Continues! yes sir indeed. I cannot relate to the stupidity lame anglo bashing of Stereotypical remark after remark of the Mexican American culture. First of all nobody looks related. The mother is forcing an accent. The father does NOT speak Spanish. When he does, I have… Read more »
You think it is an insult to Mexican Americans? Let me point out that every sitcom with whites in it is also an insult to whites if you don’t recognize it for being a sitcom. Jokes often insult to try and get a laugh. They are not being hateful. They are just making people look foolish. And if the family on the show does not look like families in East LA, don’t expect them to. None of the white families on TV actually resemble the majority of white families in the real world.
I’m Mexican and I LOVE ROB!!!! ..I don’t think I have laugh so much with a sitcom!! ..is absolutely hilarious!!! and please understand that this show main taget audience are latinos ( and ppl around them!) so that’s why some ppl can’t understand the humour!! and even say is offensive…hell NO!!! we latinos LOVE to laugh at ourselves!! THIS IS COMEDY!! and many of us have someone in our family like the uncle Hector, like the Granma…and the Mexican old fashioned parents!!! so please don’t say is not funny because for US is funny as hell! jajajajajaja it was about… Read more »
I absolutely love Rules of Engagement; it’s about the only show on TV that makes me laugh out loud. It seemed to pair very well with Big Bang Theory; it held a very respectable amount of the audience from the Big Bang Theory lead-in. I have nothing personally against Mr. Schneider but to me that show is a pastiche of past shows and past humor (the humor feels kinda dated). I didn’t laugh and there were some times I felt kind of sorry for some of the actors. I understand that there are those who feel a number of latino… Read more »
Rob it’s absolutely great show and funny I love it …the people who criticized easy don’t watch it, you don’t know and anderstand de Latin Culture, the latins doesn’t feel offended by this show, because this is comedia. And I hope Rob will return Later with more sessions.
Really like the show hope it stays.
Where is “Rules of Engagemnet”? Is it being moved again or what? CBS website still shows it at 8:30 pm on Thursdays….. was it cancelled? I can’t find any info on it…
Betty » It will supposedly return later this season. Eight episodes remain.
Yay and thank you. I thought there were more episodes since it was renewed in Oct. They keep “jacking” it around- Fans search it out but it makes it hard to grow an audience.
That being said we enjoy the Rob show- something different and the actors are great. We get sick of the same old stuff the powers that be try to tell us is great so therefore we should be watching them- mostly the NBC comedies..
Thanks again!
Betty » From what I’ve heard, it’s unlikely to return next season. Here are the details: http://tvseriesfinale.com/?p=21387
I’m a HispanicLatinAmerican, born and raised in LatinAmerica, and I like this show. I laughed out loud during both the pilot and the second episodes.
Like some of the previous posters, I enjoy Rules of Engagement, as well; and look forward to its return.
To people who don’t like ¡Rob!: just don’t watch it, and don’t hate on it.
I’ll keep watching both shows to my heart’s content.
Very well said and we totally agree!
Not a great show. Rules was and is a great show. Bring back rules of engagement.
I am a 46 year old Hispanic professional born and raised here in the USA and I loved the show!! This show is clearly target to the Spanish audience and this is what can happen when a nerdy Anglo man marries a hot Latina! Is it over the top, yes! Did they exaggerate it, yes! But it’s a comedy, it suppose to exaggerated. This can happens in all mix culture marriages. An African American man marries a Chinese woman; a Polish man marries an Italian woman. This can cause a lot of fiction. People learn how to relax and have… Read more »
I agree. It reminds me of growing up in South Texas!
Very funny , hilarious, great cast. I am in love with Maggie SECOND SEASON PLEASE
NOT a good show. Writers “suck” Clearly a very stereotypical perspective of exactly what Connor said, unimaginative bi-lingual anglo bashing!! “The dumbing down of America continues”
BRING back ” RULES OF ENGAGEMENT”
Ignorant and prejudiced to all involved. This show might have been typical or attempted twenty years ago. And be canceled within two or three episodes.
What were they thinking?
Bad, bad, bad. Nothing of this show can be salvaged.
The pilot was an unimaginative thirty minutes of bi-lingual Anglo bashing. It’s clear the show has a very limited target demographic.
Bring back “Rules of Engagement”.
Rob sucks! bring back rules of engagement! thank God for cable!
