TV show description:
Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is an incredibly famous mystery novelist who has become bored with his own success. His life starts to get interesting when he learns that a real-world copycat killer has started staging murder scenes based on his novels.
Rick is soon questioned by NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), a very bright and aggressive detective who keeps her investigations under a tight rein. Their styles instantly clash yet sparks begin to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Rick steps in to help Kate find the killer. Once that case is solved, the author decides to use her as the basis for a new book series.
Rick uses his connections to get permission to accompany Kate while she investigates other cases, much to her frequent irritation. But Kate has a reputation for looking for “freaky” cases so she needs all the help she can get.
Others on her team include Kate’s confidant, Medical Examiner Lanie Parish (Tamala Jones); sardonic Detective Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas); and Detective Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever), a nice guy who’s always ready to offer obscure facts. Captain Roy Montgomery (Ruben Santiago-Hudson) is their boss who makes sure that Kate’s cases go smoothly, in spite of all of the strong personalities involved.
Rick’s mother is Martha Rodgers (Susan Sullivan), a diva and former Broadway actress, who still seeks the spotlight and often ends up getting involved with the police cases. Alexis (Molly Quinn) is Rick’s quick-witted and insightful teenage daughter who keeps her famous dad in line.
Rick and Kate build upon their new relationship as they look to solve strange homicides in New York — as much fun as one can have with death & murder.
Episode #173 — Crossfire
With their best lead in hand, Castle and Beckett are ready to take on LokSat. But an unforeseen twist puts their case – and their lives – in jeopardy.
First aired: May 16, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Castle TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a ninth season?
How can you cancel a show based on budget, especially when you have at least 7or more producers on one show. It seems to me Stana is worth what ever it takes to keep the show going. It’s called Castle but without Kate Becket —-not worth watching.
Hope another station picks it up FAST
Why are they cancelling it,one of the only shows left worth watching with all the rubbish they are putting on tv now. reconsider please! not much left to watch all the good shows are being cancelled.
I hadn’t heard that Castle was to be cancelled, then was shocked when I watched the show finale. I only follow a couple of shows and looked forward to Castle each and every season. It had such a great mix of interesting characters, was funny and serious all at the same time and very family-friendly. Very sad to see it end. I hate to think that all we have in our TV future is reality shows!
We are HUGE Castle fans. So disappointed that ABC is cancelling a show that the entire family can watch. So sad.
My wife & I absolutely love Castle. We look forward to watching this show each & every week. PLEASE RECONSIDER about canceling this show. Its one of the best shows out there. Don’t be stupid ABC!!! Don’t cancel this show.
PLEASE DO NOT cancel Castle. It is the best show on tv!!!
Don’t cancel, keeps me on the edge
No I wouldn’t watching Castle if they tried to go on without “Rick” & “Kate”. It was the only show I made sure I watched each week. I think this is a bad move. So sad about all this!
One of my favorite shows, love the mixture of intrigue and comedy. Please reconsider canceling.
I was heart broken when I found out Castle was cancelled I was a fan of the show the from the start. The only family show that wasn’t full of garbage..I’m going to TNT, not right ABC to cancel
Makes me sad to see another great show cancelled (Castle). Apparently the networks don’t care about the over 50 age group which I’m sure more of us are home watching TV then the 18- 49 yr olds. We seem to be the less cared about generation. There is so much crap on TV these days, We really looked forward to watch something we truly enjoyed. Thanks goodness for reruns on another network.
Loved Castle, it was a great show sometimes funny and sometimes serious, it was in general very entertaining. considering some of the other shows that are on this station, some of them should have not even made a 1st season. Shame on channel 7. I looked forward to Monday nights, knowing that Castle was on,.
I can’t believe ABC would cancel Castle. This was a great show…very entertaining when compared to some of the other trash on TV. Please change your minds and bring it back for another season!!
loved Castle until I found out what a ***** the beckett character was being to Castle character….lost interest after I found out the chemistry was completely fake….but if she isn’t coming back there is not much reason for the show…a new love interest would never work….leave it alone with the good memories
If you’re really talking about the character, she was trying to protect her husband and everyone else she cared about. If you’re talking about the actress, as your second comment indicates you might be, everything I’ve read points to Nathan Fillion being at fault. Too bad, whatever. You’re right, “Castle” without Beckett would have been a mistake.
