Hot of its Emmy win for Outstanding Drama Series, Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin teased a possible prequel to the HBO series, Deadline reports.
The popular fantasy drama is currently headed into its final two seasons. Little is known so far, except both seasons will be shortened and Jim Broadbent has been cast in a significant role.
Backstage at the Emmys, Martin said he has material for a prequel series:
I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to Game of Thrones, so there’s a lot of material there and I’m writing more. At the moment we still have this show to finish and I still have two books to finish so that’s all speculation.”
Season seven of Game of Thrones is slated to premiere next summer.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the HBO series? Would you watch a prequel?
