TV show description:
Based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, the Instinct TV show is a crime thriller from creator Michael Rauch. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is enjoying a peaceful interlude as a university professor and author, when his old life beckons for him to return.
Reinhart is teaching psychopathic behavior when NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) seeks his help in catching a serial killer. It seems the murderer is using the professor’s first book as his training manual.
Although Dylan has grown accustomed to his student’s enthusiasm and adoration, Detective Needham isn’t one to take “No,” for an answer. He agrees to leave his comfortable retirement behind, in order to work this compelling case.
Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), is every bit as bright as the professor and excels at getting the goods on anyone he targets. Meanwhile, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal) is happy to see her sharpest detective accept help on any case. Lizzie has refused to partner with anyone, since a tragedy occurred, a year ago.
Although working the case gives Dylan a new sense of purpose and vitality, his husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past. While things are bumpy between Dylan and Lizzie at the outset, they soon learn that together, they make one heck of a team.
Series Finale:
Episode #24 — Grey Matter
A gruesome discovery in a city pond leads Dylan and Lizzie to investigate a young man’s murder, while Andy rescues one of Dylan’s students from a legal bind.
First aired: August 25, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Instinct TV series? Should this CBS TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
This show needs to be picked up by another network. I really like it.
Love the show, please do NOT cancel!
This is their second best summer series, after Blood and Treasure. I couldn’t wait for it to come back. .BRING IT BACK CBS. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL VIEWER FOR 70 YEARS YOU OWE ME ONE.
I can’t believe they are cancelling this show. It was one of the best shows on TV. Very disappointed.
Loved the show and all the characters. It is a shame they cancel a good show and keep crap TV like the bachelor on
Disappointed to learn Instinct is not being renewed. It is one of the very few shows that interests teen, their parents and grandparents and can be watched without embarrassment due to blatant sex, constant killings and absurd violence. Please give this show another season to draw the numbers.
Such a shame. Another intelligent TV show geered more toward an older audience and it gets cancelled.
Am so upset they cancelled Instinct ! Good writing, great acting and I loved all the charters. Soon all that will be left are horrid reality shows. Soon I will stop watching CBS.
Finally a great show on tv besides those ridiculous reality crap and they cancel it. Not happy about this
I just can’t understand CBS not renewing this great series…You never treated this show with the respect it deserved, holding up the season 2 release for several months then finally rushing thru this season’s episodes by running back-to-backs on Sunday night. I can only hope that another network with more “enlightened” management will pick up this fine show…..LM
CBS is canceling a great show. Please rethink your decision!
Please keep this show, very entertaining
This show was the one bright spot in a load of mindless rubbish. I love the characters and their interactions. What is CBS thinking? Please reverse your decision but if not, I sincerely hope another station picks it up.
This show should DEFINITELY be continued – NOT CANCELED!!!! Hopefully another network is smarter than CBS & will pick it up so its fans can continue to enjoy it.
We consistently look forward to this show! Instinct is well-written & intelligent; the characters have great chemistry & we hope CBS reverses their decision. Is there a campaign to bring it back- we’ll gladly join in!
