Is Elizabeth McCord getting the job done during the fifth season of the Madam Secretary TV show on CBS? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Madam Secretary is cancelled or renewed for season six. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all the Madam Secretary season five episodes here. *Status update below.
A CBS political thriller, Madam Secretary stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, and Evan Roe. The drama follows the shrewd, determined Elizabeth McCord (Leoni). As U.S. Secretary of State, she battles office politics, while driving diplomacy and negotiating global deals.
Elizabeth was once a CIA analyst, who exited that post for ethical reasons. She later returned to public life, at the request of President Conrad Dalton (Carradine). He values her apolitical leanings, knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages, and unconventional thinking. Elizabeth is married to Henry (Daly), a former theology professor who is now an intelligence operative. Together, they’re bringing up three children, which can really test her diplomatic skills.
What do you think? Which season five episodes of the Madam Secretary TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should CBS cancel or renew Madam Secretary for a sixth season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
*5/9/19 update: CBS has renewed Madam Secretary for a sixth season.
I really enjoy this show – I’m a bit of a political junkie. Great cast and the writers do a good job incorporating current events into well-written scripts.
Pretty much the only series we enjoy as it’s up to date and has family issues that are relevant today. Love Tia and the cast. The writing has gotten better. The President should be the President!!
Our family enjoys this program. I think it is ironic how some of the most current events are also transpiring on this show. I love Teoni. Keep it going please.
Renew.
We really enjoy this program. It’s intelligent, witty, topical – everything that is lacking in much of the “reality” programming. I get enough reality watching the news. Please do not cancel this breath of sweet air.
I love Madame Secretary and don’t want it to ever end.
Please don’t cancel Madame Secretary- funny, smart, not too risqué for family viewing. Global world view for once- so few shows see anything positive about the rest of the world. Models positive behaviors with consequences. I like to see what Bess is wearing because I want to dress like her! I love this show!! !!!
A BRILLIANT show – it is intelligent and inspiring. It has helped me get through; both personally and professionally. Please keep show – portraying a good marriage, good parenting and respect for others. ❤️️
Keep the show going. Maybe you would get more viewers if the show wasn’t always delayed due to football. Tonight’s start was 10:37 pm. Having to work on Monday morning has a lot of people hitting the hay instead of watching.
I agree 100%. I DVR this program since I can seldom watch it broadcast live, and curse ABC every time it runs longer than 5 minutes.
Ratings down? Keep Hillary Clinton and Colin Powell (Democrats) off the show. I wanted to PUKE.
The show revealed CBS radical position by leaving out Condalece Rice. I will never watch it in 2018 again.
She might have declined the invitation to appear.
Why would you choose to put such a polarizing individual (Clinton) into one of your shows. You have just lost my wife & I who formerly enjoyed the show.
Maybe you would be happy if trump appeared…which is telling.
New episode for the start of the current season. OUTSTANDING. Keep the series going. The BEST.
When TV shows start adding politicians to the cast I’m done with it. If I want to be entertained by politicians I’ll watch the news.
I adore this well-acted, riveting, intelligent and compassionate series. Please bring it back for another season.
