Magnum PI is coming to an end. A pair of episodes will air next week and will serve as the NBC show’s series finale. The action series aired for four seasons on CBS before it was cancelled. NBC picked up the series for a fifth season but also cancelled it earlier this year.
Starring Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang, the NBC series is a reboot of the popular 1980s series of the same name and follows Thomas Magnum (Hernandez) as he works as a private investigator in Hawaii.

My favorite show. I don’t want to see it end, its rating s are very high and I wish nbcwould reconsider or switch it to Peacock
Please don’t cancel. It’s one of the best shows always interesting plot and excellent acting.
The worse blunder was CBS and NBC not being able to figure out their licensing issues for Magnum PI Season 5. The show should have stayed on CBS where it belonged, had a team behind then and fit the CBS Genre of Action-Dramedy shows. The executives at NBC have mistreated and mishandled Magnum PI since they acquired the show. Holding it until mid season and sticking it on a Sunday nite, canceling it before the last 10 episodes aired and then using the show in Fall 2024 to fill its strike impacted lineup. So sad to see another terrific program being kicked under the bus. Magnum PI and it’s entire cast and stories were always entertaining and I always looked forward to their show!
I am really sorry to see this show go. It is really entertaining. It definitely is one of the best shows NBC airs. I never understood why CBS cancelled it in the first place. It will be sorely missed. It is getting harder and harder to find good entertainment any more. Good by to a truly great show.
I love this show I can’t see why nbc would cancel it. Some of the shows on nbc deserve to be cancel but not this one. Its the best show on this network. Please reconsider.
I love this show and am very sad it’s being cancelled. This show is great for taking you away into great stories with an amazing cast in a beautiful setting. I wish they would leave GOOD shows on like this one and stop putting on crap!
So sad the networks keep killing off watchable shows, but keep stupid shoes like big brother and survivor. I don’t watch NBC other than for Magnum PI. Really enjoyed the cast and the show in general. Keep hoping someone else will pick them up, but guess it’s the end this time.
They kept several dreadful series and let this one go. NBC needs better ma agement.
Sometimes I wonder who makes these decisions. I don’t think they watch any TV. Magnum is the last show NBC should be canceling.
I’m going to really miss this show. At least NBC gave us another 20 episodes. CBS should have never canceled it.
