How many more seasons will Mr. Robot last? Recently, series creator Sam Esmail spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the future of the USA Network series.
Esmail directed all 12 episodes of the hacking drama’s upcoming second season. The series stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater.
When asked how the long the show will run for, Esmail said he thinks Mr. Robot will be four, five seasons top:
I’ve been very open from the get-go, just even in selling the pilot, that I don’t see it going more than four, maybe five, max five [seasons].”
He added that USA wants the show to go for more seasons:
They jokingly sometimes slip in, “Oh, when we go into season seven, or eight, or nine.” And then of course, I laugh and I’m like, no, that’s not going to happen. I feel like, again, because they’ve been so supportive on everything else that they wouldn’t budge on this. They know that we should end this in the right way and not just drag it out for the sake of everything else. I think they’re very respectful and supportive.”
Season two of Mr. Robot premieres tonight, July 13th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Did you watch season one of Mr. Robot? Will you watch season two? How long do you want the show to last?
Mr. Robot is AWESOME, that’s all I have to say. Who knows what the future holds, right? Maybe Sam Esmail will change his mind seeing how the show does (it has happened before where the writers and creators say one thing, and resulted another)… But it will all boil down to budget!!!! Concentrate on Season Two’s success (which it will be) and take it one season at a time!!!
He should be flattered that they want it to run that long. It seems like SYFY can’t wait to end most series.
