Can One Day at a Time be saved? Deadline reports CBS All Access is interested in picking up the cancelled the Netflix TV show for a fourth season.
A reboot of the Norman Lear sitcom, One Day at a Time centers on multiple generations of a Cuban-American family. The cast includes Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Todd Grinnell, and Stephen Tobolowsky.
As reported earlier, Netflix has cancelled One Day at a Time after three seasons. Now, it looks like CBS All Access is interested in saving the series but there is one major obstacle.
Netflix’s deal with One Day at a Time prevents the show from airing on another SVOD service for years after its cancellation. According to Deadline, executive producer Norman Lear reached out to Netflix and asked them remove the restriction but it seems that won’t be happening anytime soon.
There still is hope for the sitcom, however. Word is producer Sony TV is still reaching out to broadcast networks.
What do you think? Are you a fan of One Day at a Time? What network do you think would be a good fit for the show?
My husband and I love this show so much. It is thw best thing on Netflix. The actors are wonderful and the messages hard hitting with solutions. What a shame if this leaves. Shame on Netflix.
Why is Netflix cancelling this show? I LOVE THIS SHOW…Netflix release it
Why is Netflix cancelling this show? I love this show…is funny!!
I’ll watch it whereverit goes! How about Amazon Primé? Too bad CBS All Access can’t get it. I really enjoy the show and would love to see it continue.
This is a wonderful show that I cannot get enough of yet Netflix has decided that I have. There are so many bad programs on TV and on Netflix. One Day at a Time entertains and educates. This show is very important and I hope that it gets a home for season 4 and beyond.
Let CBS have it. I wouldn’t subscribe to obamaflix to watch it, and I won’t subscribe to All Access to watch it. If there are people out there who will, so be it.
Obamaflix? You do know that there’s way more on Netflix than anything about Obama? It amazes me how some people insist on politicizing something that has nothing to do with politics.
