We won’t get to see more of Joe’s lives in the 2022-23 television season. NBC has cancelled Ordinary Joe so it won’t have a second year.
A drama series, the Ordinary Joe TV show stars James Wolk, Natalie Martinez, Elizabeth Lail, Charlie Barnett, David Warshofsky, and Teddy Sears with Adam Rodriguez, Jack Coleman, Christine Adams, Joe Carroll, Rushi Kota, Jason Burkey, and Gabrielle Byndloss in recurring roles. The show follows young Joe Kimbreau (Wolk) as he makes a pivotal and life-changing decision at his Syracuse University graduation. The three parallel stories that diverge from that night find Joe and the people around him with different careers, relationships, and family lives. The three tales each follow Joe some 10 years after his graduation: following in his father’s footsteps, as a police officer; following his passion, as a music star; and after he marries his love, as a nurse.
Airing on Monday nights, the first season of Ordinary Joe averaged a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.28 million viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). It was one of the lowest-rated scripted series of the peacock network’s current season. In the live+7 day ratings, the show averaged a 0.47 with 3.41 million, bringing in an additional 44% in the demo and 50% more viewers.
The drama’s de facto series finale aired on January 24th. Deadline first reported the cancellation. Another freshman series that also aired on Monday nights, The Big Leap, was also cancelled today.
Watched the first few episodes, and it had a great premise. It was just too “woke” for its own good.
Please don’t cancel this show was so good.give it a second chance
Perhaps James Wolk needs to put his name down for some sort of rubbish reality program. Its pretty clear what the decision makers are going for these days, and its not shows with a script, actors who are actually proper actors or any type of story. No, the demographic audience these days is all reality wanna be rubbish, and singers who can’t actually sing. Hurrah for the 21st century.
I really loved Ordinary Joe. I am so disappointed that the show has been canceled.
Loved Ordinary Joe!
So tired of what is on nowdays.
Will miss Ordinary Joe terribly!
Loved it!
I’ll MISS it
I loved “Ordinary Joe”!! I’m so sorry it was canceled!! Not unusual, however, to cancel intelligent, entertaining shows!!
At least it did get one full season ( I think), albeit rather brief!
I REALLY loved this show.
So different and interesting.
Dam* you NBC!
This is an outstanding series easy to follow. NBC cancelled it to bring a chit really show from another country. Like for the last 22 years they haven’t had enough of these trash shows. People 18-49 are not the only people who stream shows.
oh NBC added another dating show. When I saw the listing, I thought it was a show where someone actually was transported back in time. so I dvr’d it and was shocked, annoyed and disgusted, that we have another sex, tramp, toad show. enough of the garbage
Really liked his show! So sorry it ended!
I liked the series. Not the shoot ’em up stuff you see all the time. What’s the matter with people, can’t follow three story lines?
In the beginning, I was hoping this show would go somewhere. All of us… yes, even the Devil Himself, have had those “what if??” moments in life, and this expanded on that idea to show all the various “what ifs”.
By the end of the season though, it seemed like all three of Joe’s lives really sucked, so what’s the point??
I wish there was a 2nd season.
I
Loved this show !
I am so sad about this!!!
