Anthony Bourdain fans will be getting some closure. LA Times reports CNN is putting together the final episodes of Parts Unknown.
As reported earlier, Bourdain committed suicide earlier this summer while filming the acclaimed travel docuseries. Over the course of 11 seasons, the show followed Bourdain as he explored the food of cultures of Sri Lanka, Italy, Singapore, Portugal, Laos, New York City, Brazil, London, and more.
During a recent interview, CNN EVP talent and content Amy Entelis revealed the network is piecing together the final episodes of Parts Unknown, which take place in New York City’s Lower East Side, the Texas-Mexico border, Spain’s Asturias region, and Indonesia. The final episodes will air this fall:
Each one will feel slightly different depending on what’s gathered in the field. They will have the full presence of Tony because you’ll see him, you’ll hear him, you’ll watch him. That layer of his narration will be missing, but it will be replaced by other voices of people who are in the episodes.”
Apparently, only one episode (Kenya with guest W. Kamau Bell) was fully completed before Bourdain’s death in June. The final two episodes will feature a behind-the-scenes retrospective dedicated to Bourdain.
