Will Preacher be back for a third season? According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, AMC has filed paperwork to film season three in Louisiana.
Based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, the supernatural comedic drama follows a West Texas preacher, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. The cast also includes Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun.
Though AMC has not officially announced a third season renewal for Preacher, the Times-Picayune reports the network has filed paperwork with the Louisiana film office to begin shooting the new season in early 2018.
AMC has not yet confirmed the news. The season two finale of Preacher debuts on September 11th.

Love AMC for giving us super-edgy shows like Preacher. With all the Season Two events surrounding absent God and the “underperforming” Jesus, won’t be long before the Fundies are organizing against it. Bring on Season Three!!!
This is my favorite show of all time! I make sure I am in front of the tv when it comes on, no matter what! Let’s get this sucker to season 10!

The comic book ran for 126 issues. I’m sure there must be another few years worth of material to work with. Dominic Cooper looks just like Jessie Custer on the cover of issue #1. Likewise for Cassidy on the cover of issue #3. I suspect that they searched the world for actors who looked the part. I’m looking forward to more Preacher, Better Call Saul, (got to see how he ended up in Nebraska) and The Walking Dead.
