It just goes to show, there’s no such thing as “a sure thing” in Hollywood. While shows like Gilmore Girls and Everwood have been nervously wondering if they were going to be renewed, the cast and crew of Reba McEntire’s Reba could just relax. After all, the show is the highest rated sitcom on the WB and besides, the show was renewed for two seasons last year. No worries, right?
Not so. When the UPN/WB merger was announced earlier this year, it’s said that CBS’ leader Les Moonves sent word that the new CW network would honor the rest of the two-year commitment. With that in mind, the Reba cast and crew wrapped their shooting according to schedule on March 14, 2006.
In a surprising move a few weeks later, CW executives reportedly told Fox (who produces the show) that they wanted to cancel the deal because the show doesn’t attract their “desired demographic.” Fox supposedly rejected the request and it’s likely that if the CW still wants out, it will come at a costly price.
The season finale of Reba (episode 112 and entitled “Reba’s Heart”) aired on May 5, 2006. It was originally shot as a cliffhanger but after word of the potential cancellation was released, the episode was re-edited.
Though Reba has not been officially cancelled, it would be surprising to see it on the CW Fall schedule. Still, it is the highest-rated sitcom on the WB and the similarly rated 7th Heaven was cancelled, aired a series finale, and has now been resurrected and renewed for Fall. So, as I said, there’s no such thing as a sure thing in Hollywood. Stay tuned!

‘Reba’ is a great show! The characters are wonderful, and the writing superb. Please do not cancel this show!
Why would you want to cancel such a GOOD and honest family show.The best show on TV for family.I have 4 foster children ages 8,8,9,9 that love it .My 8 year old grandson tapes it and watches them, over and over.ITS GOOD CLEAN LAUGHTER,The cast is wonderful.Pleae re-think ,Keep REBA on

If i misss one show, well that never happens but if u cancel it it will make me cryin billion of tears…its the funniest show&the best. you guys are the best actors. i always wanted to be an actress and now that im watching reba its making me want more…cuz its very diffenrent from the other shows that i wacth…REBA AND THE GANG KEEP IT UP THE BEST WORK!!!!!!! remember i love u all. reba has been one of my favorite shows for ever!though i am only 14 i think its better than most shows that my age group is into!!its so funny and i looooooove the whole family!!!!
Bring back Reba. Why would you cancel a Family Show? Reba is a good show you can actully watch with your children, god only know their arent to many of those. PLEASE BRING REBA BACK!!!!!!

I am 17 years old and I have to agree with the others. REBA’s show is the best family sitcom out there. Believe it or not peope get sick of watching reality shows and shows that are only about sex and drugs. Reba’s got class!!
Please put the Reba Show back on TV. It is a good, wholesome show. I am almost 60 and I loved watching the show. I have really missed the show and so have a lot of other people. The show was enjoyed by people of all ages. Even men enjoyed watching the show. Why do you have to cancel shows that are decent and enjoyed by so many people?
I am a 36 year old mother with three children. My husband and I love Reba!!! Melissa Peterman is one of the greats. As Barbara Jean, she has me in stitches through the whole show. Plus, Steve Howey is so talented. Hey, I’ve been watching Christopher Rich since he was on Another World. This cast is the best I’ve seen in a long time. As far as I’m concerned, you can put Reba at the top along with The Cosby Show. A+++
