What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Paramount+ subscription service, the Star Trek: Discovery TV show stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, David Ajala, and Blu del Barrio. A prequel to the original Star Trek series, this drama follows the crew of the USS Discovery of the interstellar government known as the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Season four finds Captain Burnham (Martin-Green) and her crew facing a threat unlike any they’ve ever encountered. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown and work together to ensure a hopeful future for all.
Star Trek: Discovery has been renewed for a (final) fifth season which will debut on April 4, 2024. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Paramount+ will cancel or renew Star Trek: Discovery for season five. That being said, the Trek franchise is the cornerstone of this streaming service’s original content so I would be surprised if Discovery didn’t reach at least five seasons. Sorry to say, as an old trekkie, no more of this. The fun is gone and far to woke. Emotions emotions but no adventure.
Please cancel Discovery! I gave it a chance for 3 seasons, but it never improved, and there is so much wrong with it, it cant be fixed.
As a Star Trek Fan for a long time, Star Trek Discovery must go on as long as possible, maybe a few more seasons, more fantastic then other Star Trek shows, keeping the show going.
Cancelling discovery would be a crime, it’s a bold and wonderful new direction, we can’t expect to rehash Star Trek forever, this show and cast give us hope for a better tomorrow and tomorrow’s after that
Woke Trek won’t age well. In 20 years, people will still be watching TNG, DS9, Voy but NONE will be watching STD or STP.
Life long star trek fan here until STD and Picard came out. New woke trek sucks. I prey CBS goes bankrupt

In the first season of STD, they had my mild attention. I thought, OK there is something that can be worked on here and improved. I saw a possibility. Every Trek, in fact almost EVERY show ever has a rough first season at least, before it finds its footing. STD is none of that. With every year, I lose more interest, and every episode I continue to fade in and out more during the episode. I fear I am EXTREMELY close to giving up on it entirely. I would like the last episode of Discovery ASAP. Make it where Burnham and the original Captain are recovering in sickbay. And Burnham says “Oh thank God, it was all a nightmare”.
Once upon a time there was a sci-fi franchise that described a bright, utopian future with warm colors.Today there is a dystopian, nihilistic one with dark, cold blue tints. There was a disciplined,dignified, smart and cooperative deck crew. Today there is a childish, emotional, contentious one.There was an Universe full of civilized, distinct advanced races ready for confrontational dialogue but also diplomacy, support and trading.Today there is a Universe full of catastrophic space anomalies and beligerant weirdos….
Let’s not talk about the abysmal screenplays ….

I think Discovery is great and deserves to run a “full” seven seasons if not more. Great writing, believable characters, impressive effects.
Discovery is the worst Star Trek series since Archer’s Enterprise, which also just had 4 seasons. I wonder how on Earth such a crew with no discipline at all would survive a week in space.
As Star Trek was always about progress and evolution of societies, this show STD is only about Wokeism, PC and Crying in Space all the time.
Please cancel STD. This show is not Trek.
it is so terrible that you cant even call it a star trek show. its more like a parody. the “wormhole extreme” of the star trek franchise. it has less to do with star trek and more with the poor attempt at emulating the formula of the expanse, while at the same time the producers dont seem to understand that star trek already had its own working formula and identity for more than 50 years. either that, or the people who are producing it dont believe that real star trek would be successful despite its enormous success in the past.… Read more »

I think now that Netflix arent footing the bill anymore there is a high chance this will be the last season. I am convinced the only reason it has lasted this long so far is because it was contractually already pre funded.
