Whether from Heaven, Hell, or hiatus, the Winchester brothers always find their way back, and this time is no exception. As expected, The CW has renewed its long-lived, successful Supernatural TV show for a 14th season. The boys will return to more dive bars and fleabag motels, carrying on their family business of saving people and hunting things.
A CW horror drama, Supernatural stars Jared Padaldecki and Jensen Ackles as hunters Sam and Dean Winchester. The cast also includes Misha Collins, Mark Pellegrino, and Alexander Calvert. In season 13, they’ve been alternating between raising and tracking Jack (Calvert) — a powerful Nephilim — and trying to rescue their mother, Mary (Samantha Smith), from the void. Guest stars include Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Clark Backo, and Yadira Guevara-Prip, who featured in the backdoor pilot to the Supernatural TV series spin-off, Wayward Sisters (and there’s no news on a pickup for that, yet).
Supernatural: A Look at the Ratings
The 13th season of Supernatural is averaging a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.79 million viewers. Compared to season 12, it’s down by just 2% in the demo, but is up by 7% in viewership. Even 13 seasons in, Supernatural remains one of the most-watched series among scripted CW TV shows.
The CW issued early renewals for a total of ten shows, today: Arrow, season seven; Black Lightning, season two; Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, season four; DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, season four; Dynasty, season two; The Flash, season five; Jane The Virgin, season five; Riverdale, season three; Supergirl, season four; and Supernatural, season 14. Network Gives Early Renewals for Next Season to “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,”
“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “The Flash,”
“Jane The Virgin,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural”
April 2, 2018 (Burbank, CA) — The CW Network has given early renewals to ten of its primetime series for the 2018-2019 season, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.
“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19. By picking these ten series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come,” said Pedowitz. “And I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”
The series being ordered for the 2018-2019 season include second seasons of the electrifying freshman hit BLACK LIGHTNING and DYNASTY, which recently saw the debut of Nicollette Sheridan as Alexis Carrington, as well as new seasons of ARROW (Season 7), CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (Season 4), DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 4), THE FLASH (Season 5), JANE THE VIRGIN (Season 5), RIVERDALE (Season 3), SUPERGIRL (Season 4), and SUPERNATURAL (Season 14). Specific premiere dates for each series will be announced at a later time.
The CW also recently announced it would expand its primetime schedule to six nights, Sunday-Friday (8:00-10:00pm ET/PT), beginning in October 2018.

From Season One, first episode, I have been there, watching every single episode in every single season. The writers of this show is the best as well as the actors and actresses. Season 14? I thank you all for that. Now, what about Lucifer? You MUST bring him back. Who can stop Michael but our real Arch Angel Michael. Or God. Maybe whenever the final episode comes many years from now, God will return and have everyone at the Judgement throne. That would be awesome but for now, bring back our Michael to deal with this rogue Michael?
This is THE ONLY show, I make sure kids are bathed & fed & in bed so I can enjoy my favorite show,,..better not cancel

Thank God for another season of Supernatural–takes me away from my reality into where & with whom I’d like to be…Love the Winchester’s…so was quite surprised when Crowley, the Trickster, and ohlord especially the Devil turned me on so much too…dammm!
I’ve been with this show from the pilot and have never missed a show since. What more could you possible ask for in a show? In the beginning, they were always hunting evil things and saving people, but also bringing closure to some urban legends. Even though the last few years the show has changed a bit by having a “focus” for each season, the writers have done well by keeping interest up with these guys still hunting in between that main focus for the season. Love the show and have watched each of the 13 seasons. Always look forward to Thursday nights. One of the best shows on TV. Hate all those talents shows on TV. Supernatural writers draw you in and always have surprises. One of the few shows I look forward to

The Winchester boys seem to be struggling to stay on track. Scriptwriters, maybe you should go back and revisit your bible and best shows. It’s getting trite and laborious. One chem note: Dean and Jody characters have a mutual spark that needs exploring.
i agree. the first 5 or 6 seasons were the bestest and i still watch them on YT. i wish theyd go back to that kind of writing personally. but i still adore sam n dean. seems like, once they found the bunker, and stopped living in motels, it changed a lot.

So pleased! The boys wanted their 300 episode and now they’ll get it! But I hope they’ll go back to being the boys who hunt down evil things and keep the series going. Who knows maybe the Winchester line will continue. Just PLEASE no remake 5 or 6 years later!!!
