TV show description:
Living in the small town of Orson, Indiana (the “middle” of the country), Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton) is a supermom. She’s kept busy wrangling three quirky kids, trying to keep her husband on track and working to sell cars for a local dealership. Unfortunately, she doesn’t do any of the jobs in a way that makes her very proud.
At work, she’s the third best salesperson but there’s only three salespeople and she consistently fails to make a sale. Her grumpy boss, Mr. Ehlert (Brian Doyle-Murray), is constantly threatening to fire her. Her friend and number two salesman, Bob (Chris Kattan), isn’t much better off and helps Frankie out where he can.
Mike Heck (Neil Flynn) is Frankie’s husband and works as a quarry manager. He doesn’t have a very orthodox parenting style, isn’t a very sensitive husband, and is known for being brutally honest. He loves Frankie though and together, they do their best to get through life.
Axl Heck (Charlie McDermott) is the oldest of the two Heck boys and was conceived during his parents’ Guns ‘n Roses period. He’s a typical teenage boy who’s sullen, eats the family out of house and home, and also has a penchant for walking around in his underwear. When his parents want to punish Axl, they wish that he had something cool like a car, TV, or cell phone that they could take away from him.
Sue Heck (Eden Sher) is the Hecks’ teenage daughter. As the middle child, she seems to be suffering from Jan Brady syndrome and doesn’t seem to be able to find her niche. Sue fails at everything she tries with great gusto. She never gives up but her parents kind of wish she would.
Brick Heck (Atticus Shaffer) is the youngest son and is known for his odd behavior. His best friend is his backpack and he whispers to himself for comfort. He loves to read and is likely the most intelligent Heck in the family.
Episode #215 – A Heck of a Ride, Part 2
After nine hilarious and heartfelt seasons, a Heck leaves the nest as the family takes a road trip to Denver, where Axl will start his new job – and new life away from home.
First aired: May 22, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like The Middle TV show? Do you think it should have been renewed for a 10th season?
We love this show. The kids are over the top, but it’s funny. It’s clean, so hard to find a show where the main characters aren’t dead or showing teenagers having sex all of he time. If you ever had to go through the couch for change, or had to juggle 3 kids or sit for hours at your kids sporting events in the rain, you get it. Bring Darren back!
I liked it when I first started watching it but it didn’t take long to see that all 3 of the kids are obnoxious ungrateful ********! My 9 year old grandson watched it one night with me and said “Wow if I talked to mom like that she would tear my butt up”
Yes, I can’t understand why the show portrays all their kids as being rude, clueless, disrespectful, very sloppy, etc.
it’s unnerving to watch and so is the mother and her yelling, talking, interrupting, sloppiness, lazyness, her whole demeanor grates on my nerves
The “Axl” character is arrogant, obnoxious, lazy, unappreciative, and on the verge of becoming a Bore. “Sue” is so insecure, it’s maddening. “Brick” and “Mike” are OK.
It’s just too bad that Frankie has gotten so extremely over-the-top and annoying, and that Brick as a teenager is irritating, abrasive, sullen…and decidedly NOT CUTE like he was when he was little. Dear Writers: Send Brick to boarding school for kids with spectrum disorders.
as a mother of a beautiful son with autism and as a human being I think ur comment is disgusting and very offensive! goes to show that god only gives these blessings to hearts who will appreciate them not ship them anywhere !!
Having 2 children on the spectrum, I would be horrified to have someone tell me to send them away…and very few kid grow up to remain cute, so why should he? I love this show for Brick, for the frazzled mum, the long suffering dad and the hero of the show for me is Sue Heck, great physical comedy. For a parent with kooky kids, this is a moment of humorous fresh air.
TOO BAD ! This show was a keeper ??? it kept you in content with a good story line`s for each character ! was a series you wanted to watch each week ? Glad I have You-Tube we all can watch them all on there !
The Middle comes back on October 11, 2016
I love that they FINNALLY made a show where the main characters live in Indiana.
This is the best real life show ever!!!!
Just wanted to know where the snow has gone to. Miss it.
Love the middle keep the shows coming
this show is the best show in the world because it is just like real life because they dont sugar coat anything and it shows real life struggles yet has comedy. also you can tell that is the best tv show on earth because my whole family loves the show and its hard to find a show that the whole family loves.
The middle is funny – I love the show and all the actors in it.
This show sucks and they need too take it off tv I can’t stand this show they are all nerds and very ignorant people….
How about you just don’t watch it? SMH…
Middle is a sitcom I love to hate – I generally don’t watch TV, but this is the only show I have watched in the last 2 years, so it does have a lot of appeal.. On one hand, it’s funny, and I root for the family, despite the fact that they are bad parents, underachievers, and struggle with money. And the children are likely to grow up to be the same. They also make me not want to have children ever. The kids are all kind of ‘broken.’
“Broken kids?” Wow. I can not wait for you to have children. LOL. Judge not lest you be judged.
To Joe, Carolyn, Anonymous, Chris, Unknown and anyone else who feels it is there job to apparently happily watch a show because if they didn’t they wouldn’t know enough about it to leave so much information in their negative comments then go on the site and try to trash it because they have nothing better to do nor the intelligence to do or write anything better. So all they can do is put down the things they like or know to taunt others. So just know what you know and enjoy what we all truly know that The Middles is… Read more »
I love the Middle!!!! Of course it could be because I am a Heck too!!!!! I hardly ever watch new shows, except game shows. But the Middle, been watching it since it started!!!! Great family show!!!!
I. Watch every day and I’m constantly amazed at how babyish Sue is for her age, how the mother is so disorganized and annoying and how the fact that Brick has Autism is never mentioned. The dad and Axl seem normally written for.
Brick does not have autism. Asperger’s perhaps…and NO asperger’s is not a lesser form of autism.
