“Parenthood” embodies the best of what any television drama series can offer: great characters, well-written dialogue, compelling scripts, humor without slapstick nonsense, and pathos. Loyal viewers care about all of the Braverman people. All NBC had to do each year to improve ratings (and still could do for the next season) is create an hour overview, using narration and clips, showing potential new viewers what the various families and characters have been doing these past years.
