According to a new report, TLC is in talks to resurrect Who Do You Think You Are?. NBC cancelled the reality show in May after three seasons and 27 episodes. The program had a partnership with the Ancestry.com site and follows celebrities as they trace their family history.
Bloomberg says that the cable channel is in talks to bring back the show and supposedly talks have reached an “advanced stage.” The article also notes that producers have also had talks with other outlets to potentially pick it up. No other details were offered and the sources asked to remain anonymous.
NBC’s cancellation reportedly contributed to a plunge in stock prices that caused Ancestry.com’s stock to lose a third of its value earlier this year. The revival of Who Do You Think You Are? would theoretically help attract more users and boost prospects for the sale of the company.
What do you think? Would you like to see a fourth season of the Who Do You Think You Are TV series?
I truly believe you should keep the show. It’s an excellent show and it is very educational for all ages especially children. So yes you must keep the show on air tv.
This is my favorite show! Please don’t cancel. I watch it every time it’s on even if I’ve already seen that episode! Great show!
Really enjoyed this show and would love to see it return.
Loved this show . Please bring if back. This one of g he few shows on tv that is entertaining and is interesting.
Oh, please bring this back! I love this show and it creates a great interest in tracking our family tree…
I love this show! the only reality show worth watching
I love this show!!! I can’t believe it got cancelled.. 🙁 been waiting for season 4 … Please bring it back!
Terrible decision to cancel this enjoyable program. Someone needs to rethink this. Hopefully another station will pick this up.
Love the show I have my DVR set to record to rewatch. My whole genealogy group watches the show for the history lessons it adds in. Please do not take off one of the few good shows on t.v. .
I love those show! Hope it comes back.
worst decision they could have made…started me on my journey to find out more about my family
I watch very little TV, but this is one show I never wanted to miss. It is a lot more educational and interesting than most of the shows on TV. I say bring it BACK!
This is a great show and needs to be revived. As a genealogist, i’ve noticed a pick up in research since this show started and feel people are more interested when Who do you think you are? was on tv.
I just love this show and watch it every week it’s on. I usually don’t watch network shows, this was one of the few. Hopefully it does come back on cable. Finger’s crossed.
I loved this show however, I’m not surprised it was cancelled. It appears many networks would rather produce junk reality shows such as “Housewives” and “Wifeswap”rather than keep an interesting and informative show such as, this. Hopefully TLC execs will be smart enough to pick it back up!
