Will Who is America? be returning for another season? Recently, star and creator Sacha Baron Cohen spoke with Deadline about the future of the Showtime TV show.
The satirical comedy stars Cohen as various characters who interview divisive figures in American politics. Guests have included Dick Cheney, Philip Van Cleave, Joe Walsh, Roy Moore, and Joe Arpaio.
In the interview, Cohen revealed a second season of Who is America? “would be impossible” even though Showtime CEO David Nevins has expressed interested in another season:
We relied on the fact that no one was expecting me. I hadn’t done anything undercover for over a decade and so nobody thought, oh wait a minute, is this a Sacha Baron Cohen character?’ That’s the problem. You’d have to wait another 10 years to get away with it again, otherwise you’d have some very slim pickings. And no publicist worth his or her weight would allow an interview with anyone suspicious now.”
What do you think? Have you seen Who is America? Would you watch a second season?
I watched two episodes of the first season and would never watch another episode again
