TV show description:
A Western, from creators John Linson and Taylor Sheridan, the Yellowstone TV show is a family drama, shot on location in Utah and Montana. The story centers on the Duttons, a family of powerful and prosperous cattle ranchers. It chronicles their shifting alliances, as well as their old grudges, and even unsolved murders.
Under patriarch John Dutton (Costner), the Dutton family controls the largest contiguous area of ranching land in the United States. The Duttons always find themselves in conflict with those who border their land, from the town to the Indian reservation, and even Yellowstone National Park.
A committed father, John Dutton is a sixth-generation rancher. His world isn’t only one of wide-open spaces. It is rife with corruption from politicians, oil and lumber corporations, and real estate developers, and John is always right in the thick of it.
His son, Jamie (Bentley), is an accomplished lawyer, who has been contemplating a political career. His drive to win his father’s approval has helped fuel his success, but it could also prove his undoing.
After her mother died, John’s daughter, Beth (Reilly), had to assume her role on the ranch and has worked hard to keep her family full of men together. She’s earned her nickname — “Hatchet Man” — and never gives up.
Her brother, Kayce (Grimes), has been shunted aside by their father and he is still considered an interloper by his wife’s family — rivals to the Duttons. With these two families out for each other’s blood, Kayce feels stretched to the breaking point.
Meanwhile, Lee (Annable), is the heir apparent to the business. He’s remained in Yellowstone and by his father’s side, for his whole life. He is the best equipped of John’s offspring to carry on the family legacy, in terms of both experience and capability.
A wrangler, Rip Wheeler (Hauser) has spent his life in service to the Duttons. There’s nothing he won’t do or risk to accomplish his job.
Then there’s Thomas Rainwater (Birmingham), who was raised by adoptive parents and doesn’t know about his Native American heritage. Practical yet imaginative, Thomas has resolved to make some changes to policy, even as he’s still raking in the cash from the casino he runs.
As the Dutton’s drama unfolds, far from the spotlight, the story explores life in the modern West, where ranchers, land developers, energy speculators, native tribes, politicians, and family members each vie for the upper hand. When land is everything, even love is a weapon.

What do you think? Do you like the Yellowstone TV series? Should this Paramount Network TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?
DO NOT CANCEL !!!!!!
I watched this new show, set aside the horrible wigs, and facial hair I found it to be slow moving and boring sorry Kevin.
Absolutely loved the show. It has more of a motion picture presence than a tv show with limited sets. The casting is excellent and I love the fact that the Indian culture is authentic and they are given an large part of the story. The locations where everything is being shot rings true. Overall VERY WELL DONE. Best show I have seen in years. Congratulayltions to Paramount for presenting this wonderful show where the script is honest and the way people in this type of show really talk. It’s not sugar coated. Congratulations to everyone especially Kevin Costner for putting… Read more »
I love this show , I hope this continues for a long time. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is so much better then Dallas, which was good but this a modern time western. A keeper…
I love this show, it’s about time we get a great western type series. All the actors fit their parts to a T. I hope it continues for a long time.
Thank you to all making the film.
love Yellowstone best show that’s been on tv in quite a while
Love this show!!
I loved Yellowstone. It attempts to show the many forces at work in the American West. The language was appropriate for the situations and the sex scene had the purpose of demonstrating the character of the Dutton daughter. Please continue this series. The whiners can easily turn the channel or the tv off. I’ll bet they all watch the Saw movies and the Purge movies !
Please don’t cancel this program. We found it to be one of the best programs on in a long time.
I was so looking forward to watching this show with my husband after the second F-Bomb in less then 15 min turned it off could someone please explain to me why that language is necessary in a TV program or any movie in that case….will not watch again.
Yellowstone maybe a good movie to watch but until Kevin Costner can recognize United States again I will not watch anything from Kevin Costner again. We need these movie stars to get out of the political Arena and stick to acting not government. Here told the view that he could not recognize America at this time, that’s why I say I cannot recognize him nor his movies. It’s sad because he was one of my favorite actors, I never thought this man would be political, I guess I was wrong.
This is an awesome show! Well made with heart and emotions. Keep the show.
Loved Yellowstone! We hope the show stays on . One of the best shows we have seen in a long time .
Was disgusted by the language and the sex scene. Turned it off after 5 minutes and will not watch another episode.
I dvr’d Yellowstone & sat down to watch it tonight. Within the first 15 minutes the language used was unacceptable to me…the F-bomb…ass…taking the Lord’s Name in vain (God d…) broke the camel’s back for me! I deleted the 2-hour show & the series. I was hoping for a good Western like LONGMIRE but was sadly disappointed. I still tape The Rifleman & love the pure storyline & ethics of that type of series. I hope someday Hollywood wakes up to create a wonderful Western that excites many of us out here who long for it!
Wonderful show. Love everything about it!
