The Bonfire of the Vanities is coming to Amazon. Deadline reports the streaming service is developing a TV series adaptation of the Tom Wolfe novel.
The project comes from Chuck Lorre, Margaret Nagle of Red Band Society, and Warner Bros. TV.
Published in 1987, The Bonfire of the Vanities is set in 1980s New York City and explores themes of greed, ambition, social class, racism, and politics. The novel was made into a 1990 feature film starring Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, and Melanie Griffith.
