HBO has announced that their two half-hour comedies will be returning on Sunday, September 26th.
Bored to Death follows Jason Schwartzman as a struggling thirty-something Brooklyn writer. He pretends to be a private detective, solving some cases and making others worse. Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis also star.
Eastbound & Down stars Danny McBride as a star pitcher whose self-destructive behavior knocks him out of major league baseball. This leaves him broke, delusional and desperate to regain his former glory. The show also features Andrew Daly, John Hawkes, and Katy Mixon.
Both shows are returning for their second seasons. They’ll be following Boardwalk Empire, a new show that will premiere a week earlier, on September 19th.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing either Bored to Death or Eastbound & Down?

Hated bored to death ……. eastbound and down almost made me **** my pants though it’s a keeper
I’m pleased Eastbound and Down is returning, although I’m not a huge fan it was a nice substitute for My Name is Earl.
No and yes. I might try watching the first season of Bored to death on demand and give it another shot. I liked Eastbound and down that was good. But I’m looking foward to Boardwalk Empire a little more. I’m a big Martin Scorscese fan.
