Designated Survivor has some new company. Deadline reports Elena Tovar has joined season three of the Netflix TV show.
As reported earlier, the streaming service had picked up the political drama after it was cancelled by ABC. The series stars Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a low-level Cabinet member who becomes President of the United States after a major attack on the capital.
On Designated Survivor, Tovar will be playing “Isabel, the White House Director of Social Innovation.” Season three is slated to debut on Netflix in 2019.

One of our favorite shows, why would ABC cancel it? Bad call on their part. Super great that Netflix decided to pick it up. We are excited to was season 3!!!
I’m hoping they come up with more great plots and sub-plots to give us a season 4. It would be interesting to see what they do with Kirkman’s character now that he’s become a real politician and will have to play the dirty game that is politics. Can he make it through with his integrity intact? It’s too bad Hannah is gone – her character was dynamic and her death so painful and tragic. She was one tough cookie and classy at the same time. She had integrity and then some.

Loved it. Smart dialogue and the scenarios fit some current issues which is great. Keifer is fantastic this role.

This is a fantastic series. I don’t have cable or watch television per se. I do, however, have Netflix. I stumbled upon this series and have not been able to stop watching it. I’m happy to learn that Netflix has picked it up.
You better believe I will watch the continuing seasons and episodes of Designated Servivor. Hope it last through Tom’s first term and then the next four years of his second term. He will be the next President. I love watching the episodes back to back on Netflix
My wife and I are very pleased that Netflix has picked up Designated Survivor. We enjoyed the 2 seasons on ABC and look forward to season 3.
Yes, absolutely! I was watching it real time on Netflix before it was cancelled. I couldn’t believe how we were left hanging. Netflix I am loving you more and more. What about Timeless? 🙂
Yes! We love this show! It is far better than all of the degrading misery that passes for prime time TV these days. This show actually has an honest hero that one can get behind and cheer on.

Designated Survivor should go to CBS not Netflix for Season 3 I like Designated Survivor a lot I feel Designated Survivor belong on CBS not Netflix not ABC Designed Survivor belong on Wednesday night at 10:00 pm on CBS not ABC not Netflix at all.
Can’t wait. Don’t understand why they didn’t want it on network TV but doesn’t matter to me, I’ll watch it on Netflix. I actually think it’s one of the better shows out there around so much crap.
