Last season, Life in Pieces had a positive start in the ratings but the numbers fell quite a bit by the end of season one. The show could have been cancelled but CBS renewed it instead. Will the numbers continue to fall in season two? Will there be a third season? Stay tuned.
Life in Pieces revolves around four branches of the Short family tree and their sometimes awkward, funny, and touching milestones. The family’s lives unfold in four short stories each episode. The season two cast includes James Brolin, Dianne Wiest, Thomas Sadoski, Angelique Cabral, Colin Hanks, Zoe Lister-Jones, Niall Cunningham, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Giselle Eisenberg, Holly J. Barrett, and Hunter King.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Life in Pieces on CBS averaged a 2.00 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.69 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

Please to not cancel this show! It is the highlight of our week! We did not discover it till near the end of season 2. We recorded all the reruns which we have watched and watched again sharing it with friends and family. We all laugh out loud!!! This show touches on real family dynamics, feelings and modern living. It is one show we truly look forward to watching! We need more programs of this caliber.

I LOVE this show! I’ve watched it twice through so far and still laugh out loud, which doesn’t happen too often! Please don’t cancel it!
I LOVE, LOVE this show.My family can hear me across the house, laughing out loud.
LOVE. I mean LOVE this show!! I laugh out loud at something every episode. And I’m a die hard Seinfeld and Friends fan….and while I laugh at those…I don’t laugh OUT LOUD at every episode. The writers for Life In Pieces are awesome….the actors totally get it! I keep watching and re watching on Netflix!!!!
Amazing show!!!!!! Every episode is so funny and heart felt!
I absolutely love this show. Love all of the characters but Tim’s my favourite! He makes me laugh out loud! Please DON”T cancel the show, RENEW!
I find this show pretty good. It is lighthearted, and some of the jokes are funny. I like Thomas Sadowski and Dianne Wiest. I really like Zoe Lister-Jones, but her deadpan jokes are overused and stale. She used the same deadpan humor on her other two shows too. The doctor character is probably funnier on Veep than he is here. None of the kids are remotely as funny as Lily on Modern Family. This show is less ground-breaking than Modern Family since there is less diversity. The characters are less developed too. Modern Family doesn’t really do farce, but Life… Read more »

Tonight was the first opportunity I had to see the entire show. previously I thought it was an advertisemen, promotional,or one night stand. The show on tonight May 4 was very, yes, very well done. I got at least a dozen belly laugh in less than 30 minutes. I’m a begging you to keep it on the air with another piece of the puzzles
I didnt know it was a series, advertise it more and your ratings would be better. I only knew it through netflix. I love it
