What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, the Prodigal Son TV series stars Tom Payne, Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Halston Sage, and Keiko Agena. Malcolm Bright (Payne) is an extraordinary criminal psychologist who knows how killers think and how their minds work. In the 1990s, his father, Dr. Martin Whitly (Sheen), was a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon” who killed at least 23 people. Since murder is “the family business”, Malcolm uses his twisted genius for good, to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers. He works alongside his longtime mentor, Gil Arroyo (Phillips), and two detectives — no-nonsense Dani Powell (Perrineau) and JT Tarmel (Harts), a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself.

Telly’s Take
Will FOX cancel or renew Prodigal Son for season two? Right now, I think it will be renewed but that prediction could change if the ratings keep dropping. FOX has ordered a full season of 22 episodes so that’s a positive sign. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. Please don’t cancel Prodigal Son.
I do not normally watch television. For me, personally, I am an avid reader. I happen to just turn on my TV an stumbled upon this show. Now I am in front of my TV every Monday to watch this wonderful, witty, intriguing and very well written show. So, do not cancel this show! I honestly think I would cry if I read that it was going to be cancelled. Seriously.
This is an intense off the wall thriller please dont cancel this show. We love it. What a twisted law and order its Aqeaome. Do not cancel.

Prodigal son is my favorite show of the new season. I hope it is renewed. I look forward to watching it every week. I record it so I don’t miss one minute of the show. Please renew it.
One of the better shows. We look forward to Monday nights and even forsake Monday night football, much to my delight.
We love Prodigal Son and can’t wait for Monday nights to watch the newest episodes. Please renew for season 2. Big fans!!!!
Fantastic show. Very entertaining. What I like about it is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously and it doesn’t try to be something else than what it already is. It’s clever, fun and sometimes over melodramatic but nevertheless, it is very enjoyable.
I loved it: It was so good. The acting is stellar and the relationship between the son and his ‘killer’ father was creepy but mesmerizing. I don’t know how Sheen conjures up the sudden smile then the worried look when his son states that he was leaving. omg very fun. I hope someone picks up the series. This is the kind of stuff that’s missing: rich, dark humour. a five star for me !
I watched the entire show and liked it. Do wish they had left Tom’s character’s hair long. Looks better with long hair.
I made it 10 minutes before I deleted it.
I made it to 30 minutes and then did the same. Such poor acting. So hard to watch compared to something as incredible as Mindhunter on Netflix
