Scandal is currently airing season five on ABC. While the series is in no danger of being cancelled right now, some of the main members of the cast recently shared where they would like to see their characters when the Shonda Rhimes drama does “leave office” and end its run on ABC.
Tony Goldwyn, the actor behind Fitz on the ABC series, actually teased the end might come soon in his comments to The Hollywood Reporter.
“It’s to be out and proud with Liv. That’s what he wants — and he’s getting it! So be careful what you wish for!”
A happy ending for Huck is also what Guillermo Diaz wants for his character. Huck has never had it easy on this series. Yes, he can go off the deep end and kill without a second thought – but he was trained to do that. His time with B613 harmed him mentally in ways that can not be fixed.
Diaz spoke about what he would like to see for Huck.
“His wife and his kid. Being a normal guy with a white picket fence. He just wants to be normal and he’s so far from it, that’s what makes him such an interesting character because I don’t think he’s ever going to be that or get that. I don’t know if Huck can be fixed. He turned to Jake because he’s been in the hole and Jake is the only person who can relate to what he’s been through. But Jake has a stronger mental state than Huck; Huck is more vulnerable and emotionally crippled and weak than Jake is and he takes things a lot more to heart.”
Other cast members spoke about their wishes too. Katie Lowes wants to be a partner in OPA, Bellamy Young wants Mellie to have the white house and Fitz.
Why are the cast speaking about endgames for their characters? Scandal is only in season five. Rhimes other series, Grey’s Anatomy, is airing season 12.
Rhimes has talked about the end of Scandal in interviews, and she has revealed that Scandal will not have the same longevity of Grey’s Anatomy. The series will likely end when Fitz’s time at the White House ends.
On a recent episode, Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington, revealed he had 18 months left in office. That would cause a season six end if Rhimes keeps to her initial game plan for the ABC series.
Should Scandal end with season six? How long should it go on? Tell us what you think.
Shonda should elect Mellie and Jake, and if one them is killed, Olivia could become Vice President then Rowan could takeout the last person in the way of Olivia being president
The best series in forever love it
I love the show its the best their can be way more then 6 episodes . i would hat to see it end their is way more to the timeline . PLEASE KEEP SCANDAL GOING
I would hate to see Scandal end. I’m sure the story line could still continue with Fitz out of office.
I wish Olivia would stop being a wimp and be the strong fixer she was it was a much better show than this season, it seems like it has turned into who can sleep with who this season.
why go all the good shows get taken off the air? Good Wife, Person of Interest e.g. & the stupid crap lives on forever? Please get a story line that we can believe and keep it alive
I don’t want scandal to end. Please come up with a story line that keeps this drama going forward. Please Shonda you got the story in you.
Tony Goldwyn just lost my vote forever. I had no idea he was so stupid in real life. Goldwyn endorses Hillary Clinton? Really? Now when I see him or the advertisements for up in coming Scandal shows, I want to vomit. How could he be so obtuse? And Kerry Washington? Another brain washed dipshite. Is there anyone thinking anymore or are they all living in Hollyweird fantasy world, where nothing is real, nothing matters, it’s all just an act, a play, a series, a TV show. Fckg a man, just MORONS. Scandal is off my watch list.
I still like the show and will continue to watch. However, it would be really nice if both Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington endorsed Bernie Sanders.
Ok I just read the two comments above! Remember two things; Scsndal is a show albeit a spectacular one. Second, Mr. Goldwyn and Ms. Washington are Americans correct? They are entitled to vote for whoever they believe is the best for the country. Punishing them by not watching the show and indicating you would watch again if they chose your candidate borders on some type of dictatorial action we are free to choose and should have to pay to exercise our right to vote…guys get over it!
My sisters like watching this show. It should renewed for a 6th season, but it would be the last ! And Grey’s Anatomy should end with Season 12 since Patrick Dempsey is gone !
I agree end Scandal and Greys both started out as good shows and as they continued they have become stupid and frustrating. End them before you completely ruin them.
With this new direction of S5, which most people are loving, Scandal is just beginning to touch the hot issues and could develop into many more plots and avenues going forward. The talented writers are now past ‘shock’ lines into good story telling, so I hope Scandal goes on for years to come.
Six seasons is a good run. Seven or more and then things will get long-in-the-tooth. You have to know when to end a show — and most don’t these days.
I agree stop Scandal before it is completely ruined by writing that is lame just to drag show on.
it should end when Fitz leaves office. and Mellie should not be prez. if she did get to be prez than the show would probably crash. i certainly would not watch.
The end of the season cannot be anywhere near the end! Just as last season, this season is good. I must say that I was surprised that Olivia admitted she was the “mistress” and it got sticky when Mellie said that she does not want any part of having Fitz impeached but now she does! Oh wow! This show is just getting started! Oh and I like how Cyrus is allowing his true colors to show when his primary goal is to get revenge against Fitz and Mellie is just the person to help him. (It is gonna be something!)… Read more »
Please no, no, no, no, do not cancel scandal.
It is my only favorite show on tv. I miss revenge also.
I agree the show should not end. There are many more twists the writers can develop. Love Shonda ‘s shows. Writing is excellent and the acting fabulous. Characters are so well developed that the show can go on!
