Star Trek is turning the big 5-0 this year. In honor of the occasion, 50 artists, including the late Leonard Nimoy, have contributed art for an upcoming exhibit, “Star Trek: 50 Artists. 50 Years.”
Star Trek debuted on NBC in 1966.
The diverse exhibit will include illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, and more from 50 artists across 10 countries. Included in the show will be work from SF-based sculptor Calvin Ma, digital artist Tom Whalen, and the United States Postal Service. Visitors to the exhibit will also be able to see a piece from Spock himself. The late actor and photographer has contributed a multi-colored pieced titled “Hand in Vulcan Gesture.”
“Star Trek: 50 Artists. 50 Years.” will debut Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts in San Diego during Comic-Con, from July 21-24. The exhibit will then move to Las Vegas in August before heading on an international tour that includes Canada and the UK.
