TBS has ordered a new animated comedy series called Tarantula. It will revolve around the residents of Tierra Chula Resident Hotel, aka The Tarantula.
The cable channel has given the series an open-ended episode order and it is expected to debut some time next year.
Here are the press notes:
Animated Comedy Tarantula Coming to TBS
Marking its first original primetime animated series under the network’s new brand, TBS has greenlit Tarantula, a half-hour comedy about the residents of the Tierra Chula Resident Hotel (aka “The Tarantula”). The series centers on Echo Johnson, a respected but uncertified tattoo artist who delivers absurd yet introspective monologues. Echo’s poetic ramblings spin tales of misadventures with the other residents, as they partake in party crashing, dumpster diving and other socially dubious acts of mischief.
Tarantula is created and written by Carson Mell (Silicon Valley). It is a co-production of Rough House Pictures and Turner’s Studio T, with Danny McBride (Vice Principals), Jody Hill (Vice Principals), David Gordon Green (Vice Principals) and Brandon James (Vice Principals) serving as executive producers. TBS has ordered an open-ended run for the series, which will join the network’s lineup in 2017.
What do you think? Do you like the sound of the Tarantula TV show? Will you check out this TBS series?
I’ve watched a few episodes and really like the stories and characters. For some reason I’m infatuated by the ribbon cake machine. Does anyone have any information on this thing? I’m in Canada and have never seen one.
I accidentally watched the last episode first, instead of episode 1, but
I was glad I did because it made me fall in love with the series, where as I’m usually quick to discard a series if the first episode seems slow. This show is so relatable, its basically my everyday life and I love everything about it. Also, very hilarious, as well as totally sad at times. Real life’s cartoon.
Sounds great
