What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Bruce Greenwood, Manish Dayal, Emily VanCamp, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jane Leeves, and Morris Chestnut. The series follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital, as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis. Although its motto is, “Committed to excellence,” the hospital is staffed with human beings, and humans are flawed. In the third season, the doctors are surrounded by new rules and physicians, as Red Rock Mountain Medical takes over the hospital. The staff includes senior resident internist Conrad Hawkins (Czuchry), resident internist Devon Pravesh (Dayal), nurse practitioner Nicolette Nevin (VanCamp), surgical resident Mina Okafor (Wilson), cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. AJ Austin (Warner), orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Kit Voss (Leeves), neurosurgeon Dr. Barrett Cain (Chestnut), and CEO Dr. Randolph Bell (Greenwood).
Season Three Ratings
The third season of The Resident on FOX averaged a 0.73 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.03 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 22% and 20%, respectively. Find out how The Resident stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.

After discovering this show on Netflix, I binge watched two seasons in two days, while caring for a family member. As soon as season 3 started in September 2019, I hated having to wait a week between episodes. The finale in Dec. left me eager to see how one of the main characters, a whistleblower, will overcome being relentlessly targeted by the new corporate hospital manager. It’s a David and Goliath type theme in today’s newspaper headlines. I’d really like to see how it turns out. I do hope Fox approves a fourth season.
I love this show and hope it returns. I’m going to nursing school and really enjoy watching it. It is full of suspense and also funny at times.
This Medical Drama is sweet/spicy! I haven’t been captured by much medical drama’s because there just not relatable, But The RESIDENT woo who, is spot on! I’m also returning to medical student after 17 year battle IV metastatic melanoma brain cancer, A survivor who has found help by God’s grace and healing, and awesome clinical research team and going the extra mile. NOBLE PEACE PRICE..Thanks be to GOD! My latest favorite episode is “Women Down” reminds me of a nurse friend of mine and my greatest encourager.
