The NFL is sticking to Thursday nights. Deadline reports the football organization will continue its Thursday Night Football coverage on CBS despite low ratings.
Thursday Night Football began 10 years ago, adding a mid-week match to already scheduled games on Sundays and Mondays.
Recently, ratings for Thursday Night Football have begun to sag, with many claiming the mid-week game has led to oversaturation and affords teams less time to prepare. According to Deadline, last week’s ratings for the Thursday Night Football match between the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints went down 14 percent from the TNF debut in September. Nevertheless, the NFL remains committed to the program.
From NFL writer Mike Florio:
We are fully committed to Thursday Night Football, and any reports to the contrary are unfounded.”
What do you think? Do you watch Thursday Night Football? Do you think the program should be cancelled?
