Every journey must come to an end, even if you’re a special operative trying to save humanity from destruction. Today, Netflix cancelled its Travelers TV show after three seasons. Star Eric McCormack has released a video, announcing that the show would not return for a fourth season. He did offer up the tiniest sliver of hope for fans, saying, “Who knows what the future holds,” and adding, “Travelers ‘Program One’, as we call it, is complete.” Check it out, below.
A Netflix sci-fi mystery, Travelers also stars MacKenzie Porter, Nesta Cooper, Jared Abrahamson, Reilly Dolman, Patrick Gilmore, J. Alex Brinson, Leah Cairns, and Jennifer Spence. The drama unfolds in a post-apocalyptic future, in which special operatives known as “travelers” go back in time to save humanity from destruction. Unlike much time-travel fiction, there is no time machine involved. Instead, a traveler transfers his or her consciousness into the body of “target” just prior to that person’s death, then uses the person’s identity as a cover, while carrying out secret missions.

Another great show cancelled way too early!! Please renew this show. Let’s have Traveler Program II!! And, of course, let’s have David. He’s a joy to watch. I agree with another commenter. This is a show I can watch because it’s not overly violent or overly sexualized. I will not watch those kind of shows and am greatly disappointed that those kind of shows are being made that influence the brain chemistry of the viewers to the detriment of society.
Very sad. My husband and I both loved this series. I realize that it is obviously a done deal, but I would seriously urge you to reconsider as your other shows really miss the mark. This was a well rounded show. It gave hope in times of darkness, many other of Netflix series are too dark. We are watching Hulu and Tubi much more than Netflix anyway.
I’m really angry Netflix cancelled travelers. They have been on a roll cancelling so many outstanding series. I wonder if they’re trying to drive away all their loyal customers.

All networks keep the moron shows while cancelling the good ones. All forms of tv will die out. People will get tired of it and move on from tv shows and movies.
Well, that will certainly sway Netflix to seeing the error of their ways and bring Travelers back!

I love this show. It has been my favorite show and I could hardly wait for each season to come. I watched all the episodes in one setting and would re watch them several times. It was the last show that tethered me to Netflix. Now that it is gone there will not be any more reason to continue paying for a subscription. I am a VERY unhappy camper.
I’m very disappointed. It has great characters and a story that seemed to keep evolving.
But so it goes with the few shows I have left to appreciate. Easier to fill with homogenized drivel.
You said it exactly, Rosanna – homogenized drivel! There hasn’t been anything above 2 stars on Netflix for months! We rarely even watch it any longer. Not wasting more money on you. Think we will delete a very long relationship with what once was an entertainment app with intelligence. Bye bye Netflix! Saving me big money!
Very sad news. This is one of my favorite shows. However the way season 3 ended felt like a nice closure for the show with Marcy and David getting a new start.

Even Netflix can’t make a time travel show work… Uh, What?!
Does anybody with this concept have to connect it to something like the Arrowverse to get any sort of traction? You know, considering how Legends of Tomorrow is the sole survivor here? (Not that I’m knocking that particular show tho.)
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED !! Travelers is one of the best time travel themed sci-fi stories to come along. Been a fan of both film, tube, and hard copy and Travels was THE BEST. Well premised, well written, great characters, excellent cast. Both my wife and I, though, had a strong sense of ending when they killed off Patrick Gilmore’s character David Mailer. And with the nuking of major cities we felt: ‘OK, this looks like their mission didn’t go well’. Sure enough the mission characters all found out the mission was being ‘rebooted’. Sad. You said it best! Travelers was better than anything offered in the Sci Fi genre ANYWHERE. The shortsightedness of Netflix is very telling and my time with them is over! Longtime subscriber releasing a once decent entertainment app moving on to much better apps! BIG MISTAKE Netflix!

This was one of my favorite shows, but I knew when Will & Grace came back to TV McCormack would want to leave the show. I’m glad we got 3 seasons, but Travelers could have gone on a lot longer.
