It sounds like the Whitechapel TV show won’t be back for a fifth season. Lead actor Rupert Penry-Jones, who plays DI Joseph Chandler, broke the news via his Twitter account: “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone but ITV don’t want any more Whitechapel. That’s all folks x.”
A detective drama, Whitechapel airs on BBC America here in the states but the cable channel has yet to announce when or if they will air the fourth season of six episodes. That batch finished airing in the UK on October 9th.

Please continue bringing us more seasons of Whitechapel. One of the best British shows. I am watching it again because it is that good. Great actors perfectly matched for this series.
Yes, Whitechapel should be continued, but ease back on the macabre. It has got out of hand in Season 4.

I loved the series. Why would you cancel after only 4 seasons? Why?
Loved it!! One of the best, so of course you cancel it!!! It’s like the X-files but a step further into the mythology. Excellent premise with Ed and his knowledge of history and Jie’s ICD. Love Miles and his dedication to Joe and the team. All the hats test were great. You were really into a great Season 5 with the note from his dad and the mystic coming into the plot. You need to reconsider this cancellation!

I like the series and how it was moving into more who done it style using the many occult obsessions that were present in 1880 London. Even though the show set in modern times, the legacy of White Chapel is its mystery and ability to explore off radar type of detective challenges. I hope the writers enjoyed writing them, like we enjoyed the characters, their development and the stories. I like that it blended the known, they unknown and the space between.
OMG please don’t leave us stranded with out the finale. How can you do that…I want to find out who the little old lady is (witch, demon). I could watch more seasons. They are more a miniseries than a full season. Please bring it BACK!!! I need closure for sure. Watched it on HBO Max. US fan!

Resurrect the series. We are starving for great acting, plots, music and evil like Whitechapel during covid.
My God! That was an incredibly engaging show! Excellent actors, unique plot. Had to binge watch because I was on the edge of my seat with each episode. Why do the classier more cerebral shows get cancelled while the shows any chimp would be ashamed to watch are kept?
