TBS has cut another original comedy. The cable channel has cancelled their Clipped sitcom after one season of 10 episodes.
On Clipped, a group of very different young people who all went to high school together (but ran in very different crowds) end up working in the same barbershop in Charleston, Mass. The cast includes Ashley Tisdale, Mike Castle, Matt Cook, Lauren Lapkus, Ryan Pinkston, Diona Reasonover, and George Wendt.
The series debuted in June to lackluster ratings, garnering a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.42 million viewers. The numbers got a bit better in later episodes but were never very good.
The season, which concluded on August 18th, averaged a 0.45 in the demo with 1.22 million. Those numbers are about the same or worse than the other comedies that TBS cancelled earlier this year– shows like Men at Work, Sullivan & Son, and Ground Floor.
Combined with the cancellation of Your Family or Mine, this means that the cable channel will have no original comedies returning next year, other than the American Dad! animated series. TBS does have new live-action original series in the works, shows like Angie Tribeca, Wrecked, The Detour and The Group.
What do you think? Did you like the Clipped TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I think they have a bunch of idiots who wants to make their audience really hate tv. Why bother to watch a show and really like it . Only for the Jack Asses who run it to cancel them. My family watches movies now. Because every good comedy comes on they cancel. Do you people even know whe what’s funny and when you have a great show. Wise up. Viewers are really getting to the point of turning the tv off for good. You all think the young is watching it. Guess what they are not. Ages 30 to 100… Read more »
I loved it. Yes i think it should not have been canceled
I’m so sad! I really liked “Clipped!” I thought it was really funny. A lot better than some of the shows on the other networks. There are only a few shows on tv that I really like, and that was one of them. I’m glad I don’t really have time to watch much tv, because there’s not really much on anymore.
10 episodes broadcast during the summer months is not long enough for a series to find an audience. From what I’ve seen this series looked promising.
I can’t believe that tbs canceled this great show. I am soo sad and mad. but to make me happy go to my youtube channel and subscribe!

Clipped was a comedy that grew on you!!! Loved it. Very tired of investing my time in freshman TV shows to then find out they were cancelled. Backstrum, Stalker, and now Clipped. I give up. Moving to Netflix ONLY!!!
Loved the show bring it back
“The cable channel will have no original comedies returning next year, other than the American Dad! animated series.”
If you think dumping scripted shows for reality shows is bad, then this is a real example of live-action shows being dumped so that only the animated floating timeline shows remain.
What was even the point of making the show then? These are exactly the ratings that TBS gets pretty much every time… Clipped wasn’t always consistent but when it was on point it was really great… And you could feel the chemistry of the cast grow as the show progressed.
Whatever, TBS. Your network is a joke.
The best thing for viewers. Stop watching new shows until second and third season. If it makes it then time to watch. Writers for these shows have no talent. I can only imagine the bs of Hollywood. Look at all the movies that are remakes.
I’m tired of “Hollywood” too. I have a lot of problems with them.
Awww. If I cared, it’d be really sad.
