An NBC reality TV series, Better Late Than Never follows Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, and George Foreman as they travel the world, with both help and misdirection from tech-savvy comedian, Jeff Dye. In the second season, the celebrities journey to Munich, Berlin, Lithuania, Sweden, Barcelona, Madrid, and Morocco. There, they’ll meet up with dozens of natives and guest stars including David Hasselhoff and Al Roker, as well as Björn Ulvaeus, of ABBA.
In its first season, Better Late Than Never aired over the Summer of 2016 and averaged a 1.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.31 million viewers. Those were pretty healthy numbers, especially for a summer series.
This time around, NBC decided to order twice as many episodes and aired them around the holidays and as filler leading up to the Winter Olympics. That scheduling didn’t work out too well for the boys and the ratings have seen a big drop. Compared to the first season, season two is averaging a 0.89 demo rating with 4.75 million. That’s down by 44% and 35%, respectively. It’s currently one of the network’s lowest-rated shows of the 2017-18 season.
It’s unclear if NBC will cancel or renew Better Late Than Never for a third season but the numbers aren’t looking good. What is clear is that a healthy percentage of the first season’s audience isn’t watching the show on Monday nights (our readers seem to still love it).

Advertise the boys more! Don’t cancel this show. It’s down to earth. It’s fantastic! It’s cultural. What more? Awesome. Get the word out for this show. Monday night works for me (right before The Good Doctor). Keep them traveling!

Love “Better Late Than Never.” It is the only show the whole family agrees on and it is hilarious. Another season touring South America or Australia would be awesome!

Husband and I loved watching both seasons. Laughed so hard sometimes to tears. Along the way, I think we learned a few things too. Please continue to Season 3. Were sad to see this season end. Still have it on the DVR so we can watch it again.
This is truly one of the funnest shows on TV. William Shatner is so droll, Henry so ernest, Terry so nekked, and George so George. I love it.

I adore this show and would absolutely watch another season of it! It’s a fun way to see and learn about other countries and cultures. The group’s banter and antics are always hilarious to watch. But I do think it’s better suited for summer airing.

they really need to find a different way to base the ratings because most of us have to stream and NBC doesn’t offer live streaming in most markets, so most of us have to watch later on Hulu(like me) or wherever. you can’t get any kind of ratings info from that and I wish they’d stop basing on that crap alone. I think they should allow them to keep doing this until they can’t do it anymore! It’s beyond hysterical!
